Presenter Humphrey Burton starts this edition with what could be regarded as something of a bad taste joke.
Appearing in front of a backdrop of Bathers at Asnières by Georges Seurat, he introduces it as "one of the world's great paintings that HASN'T been stolen."
This would almost certainly appear to be a reference to an armed raid on the home of
Alfred Beit, which saw 16 paintings worth at least £8 million (almost £71 million by 2023 standards) stolen. The robbery occurred on April 26th 1974 and was reported the following day - this edition of Aquarius was recorded on May 1st.
