This ep was like the pilot in that it gave me a lot of exposition and information about a lot of things all in one large clump.
However, I rated the pilot better, because that's what PILOTS have to do.
To be fair, there were moments of absolute excellence.
Honestly, Jared Padalecki & Jeff Pierre were perfect together. Coby Bell was absolutely cute as the divorced guy getting hit on while also believable as the Captain & big man in charge. Keegan Allen was both so young looking and yet so sharp.
Both of those pairings moved forward smoothly.
Also, Padalecki & Lindsey Morgan have wonderful chemistry together and their scenes were good, although the FLASHBACKS from Micki's past took me completely out of the mood.
The bracelet was a dead give away clue. The scenes with Micki & her adopted mom/aunt showed incredible ACTING skill, but fell flat for me both because they had a lack of build up in the writing (which lessened my response to their emotion) and had also given the plot twist away.
And I'm left wondering if I'm supposed to dislike Trevor so much. He literally held that gun like a stone cold psychopath, but was at the soccer match calling Walker "sir."
Final grumble, casting needed to work on "types" for minor roles, like the overdone bikers. Every role, even small ones are crucial. (Meanwhile, boyfriend Mike was a WIN.)
So, good news/bad news for me on this one. HOWEVER STILL MY FAVORITE NEW SHOW AND STILL LOVE THIS CAST.
