Stumbled upon this movie while browsing for something new and fun to watch. Glad I picked this one! This is a very well made movie with a gripping storyline. There's never a dull moment! All the actors have done a phenomenal job and the direction is quite spectacular for a debutant director. The pace of the movie is steady and picks up at the perfect time! You will leave the movie feeling content. In today's times where most movies or shows seem repetitive in terms of the storyline, this one surely stands out and does a great job in giving the audience what they want. I strongly recommend this movie to anyone looking for something new and interesting to watch.

Thrilling Drama

All the characters in this movie have been exceptionally well considering all of them are new comers. The lead actors have given thrilling performance. Supporting actors have performed so effortlessly.

Movie will kept you entertaining till the end and hook you throughout. The music and the songs are fresh and melody.

This is directed by a very talented friend kartik. He is born to direct movies as he simply lives within art entertainment circles. A lot of hard work has been put through this movie.

This is his first movie and shoutout for choosing the thriller drama as his first one.

Overall the movie is captivating and a must watch for a new director Kartik and Actor Amit.

An impressive debut with a rollercoaster of emotions, great character development, and a genre-defying plot - a cinematic gem that leaves you wanting more.

The movie didn't in any way looked like it was a product of a debutant director. Had me hooked al the way and there was no lag at all.

It had all the emotions packed - love, anger, fear, lust, hopelessness, joy, fatherhood, revenge, acceptance and humour.

Every character is built very well and actors have justified them too. Especially the lead character played by Amit, such a matured acting for a debutant actor.

This plot is One of the very few where you could not fit it into one genre. Great cinematography, music and editing LOVED THEM ALL!

KEEP GOING AND KEEP GIVING US MANY SUCH MOVIES!!!

'Karma Strikes', a riveting debut film by Kartik, captures the allure and pitfalls of debauchery, the Karmic retribution it entails, and the drastic atonement ('Prayaschit) it warrants for cathartic salvation as a finale. A compelling story well depicted with nuanced direction and emotive performance by the cast that is well accentuated with soothing music seamlessly woven through the scenes.

Amit Mishra, Yuvdanyee, and Puja deliver an engaging performance. Special mention to Amit for his nuanced portrayal of altering emotions, the love for his daughter, the entrapment in illicit affair, and the escalating quandary. The mellow music with good lyrics, and an element of pathos is soulful, in particular 'Khalipan' and 'Naye raaste'.

The film conveys the caveat that a fatal attraction can be inextricably fatal!

Bold topic for a debut film

For a team completely new, this is a top class film. Not easy for a guy starting his career in films to act in a role which has many shades of grey. Well done Amit Mishra.

But for me, the real hero of the film is the director- Kartik Venkatraman! Making his first film on a sensitive topic- infidelity, is never easy. But he gets the story right, the mood of the film right.

Loved the way he narrates his story of infidelity to his future son in law. Never seen such a unique story telling technique before.

All the best to Kartik & looking forward to cheering & clapping for all his future successes & achievements!!!

Abhishek is outstanding and co-actor has done her job very nicely.

It's engaging and magical.

Independent Filmmaker-Thriller

Directed by Kartik Swaminathan Independent & first time Filmmaker from "New York Film Academy"; "Karma Strikes" is a Great Thriller. Having a new star cast , you may have to be patient for the first 20 mins until the movie takes over. I was pleasantly surprised to see how this first time Director was able to get such fine performances from his first time actors Amit, Yuvradnyee & Puja. Amongst songs notably "Khalipan" is brilliantly shot & stands out. Its a thriller having a hue of Romance, such complex subject handled with such flair. Recommended watch.

Yes, This movie depicts how your WRONG KARMA can come any time without your notice or even imagination back to you in any form!!!

The english saying "As man sows, so shall he reap." is being shown in this Drama with simple message of wrong affairs can cost a lot in future.

Extramarital affair could be very dangerous. It may start with attraction but may ends up with destruction in life.

Acting is good, writing & direction is up to mark.

Songs are the heart of movie in my opinion... The music team have done a wonderful job.. the placement of "Khalipan" song was the best from the writer and director team.

In a whole, a good time to watch once for the REALITY check on Wrong KARMAS of life!!! :)

Gripping movie & interesting twists

Accolades for the first time director Kartik. A well written & directed movie. The story is very gripping and keeps you engrossed through the movie. Unexpected twists and turns are really nice. The characters are well chosen and play appropriate part and the story is at a good pace. Music is decent and soothing. Shot across US & India, the movie tries to capture the cultural perspective quite well and is an interesting family drama with lots of surprise elements. The movie as the name suggests, brings out the past karmas and its effects in life good or bad striking wihin one's lifetime. Overall a good watch.

Karma chameleon

Deeply moved by the theme of Karma..it has outstanding Camera work, slick editing from the first shot onwards .. Delightful Art Direction, exciting Sound, very lilting BG ... The last scene featuring Divya was breathtaking. The flick has amazing art, colors, lighting, BG and songs .. beautiful cinematic angles and the makers brought out the best in each of the characters. Divya was a delight and conveyed her emotions so credibly. The script is well conceived and the narrative is robust and loyal upto the last scene. Top class production values, I see a very bright career in film making for Kartik and his crew.

The fear for his daughter's life was beacause of a reason. The reason, The Love, The hate and the betrayal. Simple hook and excecuted it very well till the end. Enjoyed every moments of his life. The story and the message everyone should have in mind. Kudos to the entire team, special mention to Amit and Yuvradnyee performance at peak. I saw Anil and Divya throughout the movie. Karma Strikes was technically well excecuted movie with a message everyone should fear and watchout for. Great job Karthik, you have a unique way of storytelling and an unique film language. Love to see more from your desk's paper and pen.

Karma strikes will strike you from the get go. Strike you with its superlative performances, strike you with its mesmerizing songs, strike you with its immersive story, screenplay and cinematography but most importantly strike you with its direction and presentation. A must watch for many reasons but most importantly because it's brought to us by newcomers who we definitely want to see produce much more of these so that we don't limit ourselves and start believing in the impossible! Thank you Kartik Venkatraman, Aafreen Karim, Amit Mishra, Yuvradnyee, Pooja Sawant, Akshay Vairagi and the entire cast and crew of Karma strikes for this amazing experience. A non linear entertainer

I started the movie and loved the logo derived from the husband-wife producer duo's names in the begining where "Aafreen-kartik" turns into "free art" productions . Also was touched with thanks to everyone , tribute to Kartiks (director's) cousin who had passed away at a young age .

For the first 20 minutes the movie is sweet and funny .

In the serious scene thereafter I loved how her dad reacts shocked into silence and doesn't act all panicky which would be typical.

The lead actress shows a special awareness of her surroundings whenever she gets emotional and curbs her emotion in public and displays embarrassment with stolen glances to make sure people aren't paying attention to her just like a real person would .

The musical genius is that it feels like it was written in the screenplay and doesn't halt the story . It becomes the emotion in the scene and also takes the story forward .

The story telling ..the narrative ..is not a straight line but interwoven with past and present !!!

Where all actors some of them first timers give nuanced performance, where two perspectives get delivered in same screen time, Simply genius !!!

One character is asking the questions as himself yet it seems like audiences question to another character .

Every line is simple yet cinematic ..carries weight carries meaning ..takes the narrative forward..every action has an underlying meaning !!!

Well done!! Hope you make many more !!!!

It's not ever so often you get to see a movie excel in multiple genres all at once, love story, thriller, entertaining and dramatic, leaving you with a feeling of utmost satisfaction as a viewer. Karma Strikes is all of this and much more. Produced and Directed by new comer Kartik Swaminathan Venkatraman, Karma Strikes, at its core is a story about a father who would go to any extremes to keep his daughter safe and happy. A thrilling, nerve chilling tale of the father's past that continues to daunt him until the d-day and what role Karma has to play in their lives ! Superlative performance by its lead cast of Amit Mishra and Yuvradnyee, both new comers who will throughout the movie give you the feeling of being seasoned actors. Movie is wonderfully supported by Pooja Sawant and Sagar Sharma who play the roles of daughter and prospective son in law. The music of the film, helmed by Akshay Vairagi and lyrics by Anurag Mishra are one of the major highlights of the film adding aptly to its emotive core. Finally, it is the direction of Kartik Venkatraman that keeps you engaged all throughout and makes this movie a must must watch ! Inception of a Rookie Director - A very Nolanesque take on the topic of Karma

Karma Strikes- is a story one should definitely watch one time to witness what the new Director and Story Teller - Karthik S. V. has to spell on the screen with his ideas of how we human owe to our own Karma and none can get away from paying back ! Beautiful songs, some amazing and promising performances by the new comers Amitkumar Mishra, Yuvradnyee and Puja. This movie takes you through the journey of Anil(Amit Mishra), who is a happily married man but landed up making one mistake that just shatters his life after many years, when his own grown up loving daughter - to be bride, pays for his own mistake. The movie is all about human tendency as how unintentional harm we cause to others. We know it and yet ignore the fact and disown our responsibility and give ourselves the benefit of doubt. But the fact remains that it was "me' because of whom "the other" has to suffer ! It is the story about love of a father who till now lived in guilt but emerges as a strong support and true man to save his daughter and take some extraordinary steps as he "realizes" what was done was not right and he owe it to the "other" person !

One must watch it for story and performances and how to the point it has been tailored to make an amazing first time movie !

I was recommended Karma Strikes by a colleague and it did not disappoint.

I gave 10/10 stars, I was not expecting all the great twists and turns. The beginning of the movie had a couple of laugh out loud moments and then the movie turned much more serious. Deep meaning and symbolism were creatively intertwined throughout the movie. A powerful testament to a father's love but in a unique and never seen before way.

My colleague informed me this was a first feature from director Karthik Venkatraman. I would not have expected a smooth and well flowing movie from a directors debut film but Karthik has pulled it off!!! Great movie and great debut!
