Hank Hoffman has quickly become Wicked Pictures' secret weapon: after a decade as journeyman cameraman he recently has directed the label's best feature releases.
"Kiss Me" is a very pleasant surprise, as it brings creativity, a serious tone and engrossing performances to the popular Lesbian porn genre, rising way above the norm among literally thousands of mediocre, repetitive releases of late.
It concerns inhibited, closeted Kristen Scott as Tristan (refreshingly granted by auteur Hoffman a rhyming name rather than her near-always casting as "Kristen"), who is fortunate enough to meet progressive blogger Jenny (beautiful veteran Charlotte Stokely) and her friend Lily (Jane Wilde) who succeed in bringing her out of her shell once and for all.
Hoffman wisely does not superimpose a complicated story, as fans have become accustomed to a nearly all-sex format (with simple scene dialog set-ups) in girl/girl porn, but instead delivers stylish scenes, a sinuous musical score and pro photography. The five-girl ensemble, including beauties Kenna James and Serene Siren, appear in all the competition's videos, but their acting here is exceptionally stimulating.
