Mr and Mrs Fellowes arrive at the hotel, and book the exclusive £100 a day suite for their honeymoon. The staff enjoy a drink with the bride groom, but are suspicious about his behaviour, and think he looks like the famed killer, Doctor Crippen.
Bonkers, daft, and lots of less than casual racist comments, but it was quite funny, a storyline that was way over the top, but actually pretty funny. They have a bit of a pop at everyone to be honest.
It works largely because of Peter Sallis, he really does play it with a straight bat. Mr Spooner was definitely amusing.
He did look a little bit like Crippen in all fairness, 1973, so Peter Sallis would have made a start on Last of the summer wine, I'm not sure which came first, but he'd become known and loved by millions, unlike Room Service.
Pretty funny.
