- Gregory Parker: Teenagers and mornings - not a good fit.
- Ed Lane: Yeah, well, teenagers and anything - not a good fit.
- Billy Dresden: Hey, let her go!
- Scott Mink: Excuse me?
- Billy Dresden: I said, let her go.
- Scott Mink: I heard what you said.
- Billy Dresden: So, then let her go.
- Ella Brandt: Guys, come on.
- Scott Mink: Or else?
- Billy Dresden: There's no "or else."
- Scott Mink: Really? 'Cause I kind of believe in "or else."
- [shoves Billy to the ground]
- Scott Mink: Don't talk to me, or else. Or like, uh, stay out of my business, or else?
- Detective Danny Price: [first responder enters command post and talks to SRU officers] Hey, there's a kid up there with a gun. We got to get up there as soon as possible. Every second counts!
- Gregory Parker: Which is why we're slowing down movement until we get further intelligence. See, right now, the subject is inactive.
- Detective Danny Price: And by "the subject" you mean the gunman.
- Gregory Parker: [turns away and talks to Scarlatti] Zero fatalities, two injuries. Sounds like they were unplanned.
- Mike Scarlatti: Which affects our subject profile, which affects our response.
- Detective Danny Price: Okay, and what about the injured?
- Mike Scarlatti: [annoyed] We're on it! Sir.
- Gregory Parker: This kid hasn't killed anyone yet. He's had ample opportunity.
- Mike Scarlatti: Nothing on the Internet. No creepy photos. No "look at me and my gun" stuff.
- Gregory Parker: Classic domestic scenario. Regent Park, projects, poverty... Mom's unemployed, dad's got a criminal record. Drugs, couple of domestic assaults on the mother.
- Mike Scarlatti: Probably where he got the gun.
- Gregory Parker: Yeah, well, a kid like this, no money, horrible home life, stuck in a fancy-pants high school? It's a perfect storm. It's still no excuse.
- Ella Brandt: [on phone to Parker] He is a good person. He wouldn't hurt anyone. At least, he wouldn't have. I just... I just wish... I should have done something. I could have changed this.
- Gregory Parker: No, this isn't your fault, honey.
- Ella Brandt: When he was getting the crap kicked out of him, I didn't have to just stand there like some idiot while the biggest jerk in school was going after him. He was standing up for me. He was defending me.
- Billy Dresden: Sometimes you think something's gonna work out. Even if it's not beautiful, you at least think that it's gonna work. And then... a few hours later, you come back and you see that it... it's nothing. It just doesn't work.
- Ella Brandt: I think I know what you mean.
- Billy Dresden: You do?
- Ella Brandt: Sure. I feel like that all the time.
- Billy Dresden: I just wanted somebody to care! Some-somebody to apologize! It's so stupid, and... I just made it so much worse. I sent... a video out to all of Tony's friends. I don't even know what I'm doing!
- Ella Brandt: Billy... everyone is scared. You know what happened after lunch hour?
- Billy Dresden: What?
- Ella Brandt: I told Scott that I... couldn't go out with him anymore. I think you scare him. I think you freak him out because you're smart and you're interesting and because I like you. He feels stupid and he acts like a jerk, but it's not your fault. It's his. Billy... it is not your fault. This whole day, it shouldn't have happened. I wish I could take it back, I really do.
- Billy Dresden: Yeah, me too. I-I'm sorry.
- Ella Brandt: No, it's okay. Hey. I'm right here with you. Hey, you and me, together.
- Detective Danny Price: [being placed under arrest after shooting the subject] He killed my boy.
- Kevin 'Wordy' Wordsworth: What? Come on, let's go.
- Gregory Parker: [on phone walking in] Yeah, put him on.
- [to Danny]
- Gregory Parker: Somebody wants to talk to you.
- Tony Price: [on phone] Dad?
- Detective Danny Price: Tony?
- Tony Price: I'm okay.
- Detective Danny Price: Tony! You're okay...
- Tony Price: He just wanted me to say I'm sorry.
- Detective Danny Price: Tony...
- [sees Billy being treated by EMS and realizes what he's done]
- Gregory Parker: I've got a son; he's in high school, too. So I get it, all right? I... I get it. But this is our job! And you gotta let us do it!
- Detective Danny Price: I'm sorry.
- Gregory Parker: Yeah... Yeah, me too, buddy. Me, too.
- [sees Billy then walks out]
- Gregory Parker: Son of bitch.
- Ed Lane: [sitting down next to Parker after watching him beat up his locker in the locker room] You can't... keep doing this to yourself.
- Gregory Parker: I miss my boy.
- Ed Lane: I know.
- Gregory Parker: Okay, last, but certainly not least, tomorrow a big drill with Team Five. And I, for one, am firmly anticipating a Team One victory.
- [everyone gets excited]
- Ed Lane: Which is why we're going to spend the rest of this afternoon training, in gear, with weapons, in the six-story building we're going to use for tomorrow's training.
- Mike Scarlatti: [unexcitedly] Training for a training exercise?
- Ed Lane: We play to win, Mr. Scarlatti. We play to win.
- Winnie Camden: [over intercom] Team One, hot call. We have an active shooter in a high school. Two injured. First responders on their way.
- Sam Braddock: Jules, you ready for this?
- Jules Callaghan: 48 days in physio, four hours a day at the gym, double time on the range; yeah, I think I'm ready. Let's go make a difference.
- Gregory Parker: Ma'am, where did the first responders go?
- [Chevali shakes head not understanding]
- Gregory Parker: The, uh, first officers on the scene.
- Principal Chevali: I don't know. They just went in.
- Ed Lane: We got one on each door, two heading up to the third floor.
- Gregory Parker: Okay, Eddie. SRU only. We gotta control this, okay?
- Ed Lane: Ma'am, you got any further idea who we're dealing with here? I mean, with all the cell phones, somebody must have seen something.
- Principal Chevali: Yeah, male, Caucasian, 15 to 17, hoodie, medium height. Definitely a Wellesley student, possibly a sophomore, but that wasn't confirmed.
- Ed Lane: Okay, so, uh, white kid in a hoodie.
- Principal Chevali: Yeah, no, I know it sounds like half the kids in my school.
- Ed Lane: [escorting Ella out of the school] Boss, this is Ella.
- Gregory Parker: Ella, hey. I'm Greg. I was on the phone with you. You did great. You did everything right.
- [Ella hugs him]
- Gregory Parker: Billy's on his way to St. Mike's. He's gonna make it because you were there to help him. 'Cause you were there.
