The Young and the Restless stars have come out in droves to pay tribute to the late Marla Adams.
As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Marla passed away last week at 85.
Marla was best known for her role as Dina Abbott Mergeron on the hit CBS soap.
After news of her passing broke, Marla’s The Young and the Restless family came out in full force to honor her.
Beth Maitland (Traci) took to Instagram to honor the woman who played her mother on-screen for decades.
“The earth stopped turning for a moment when my Marla passed to eternity. Rest now, my Muti and soar with the angels. @marlaadams @marla1411 @youngandrestlesscbs,” Beth captioned her Ig post.

This shocking announcement is just one week from when the network was to announce its Fall 2024 schedule. That will be on May 2. Here are all the details about the cancelation, and how fans nearly got a shortened Season 4.

Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers indicate that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will continue to be at odds with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) when it comes to co-parenting Connor Newman (Judah Mackey).
The child’s obsessive-compulsive disorder (Ocd) diagnosis has flipped the family’s life upside down, and while his two parents are trying to be as supportive as they can, they can’t see eye to eye on things, mainly when it comes to Connor’s treatment.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers- Adam Newman Can’t Shake The Bad Thoughts
Y&r spoilers note that when Adam first returned to Genoa City from dropping Connor off at the facility in Maryland, he couldn’t shake the bad feelings he had about the treatment center.
Even Chelsea was shaken up a bit when the doctors told the parents to leave, rather than helping Connor settle into his new surroundings as originally intended.

The Young and the Restless fans’ eyebrows were raised today by mentioning Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) on the hit CBS soap.
Although Sheila has been wreaking havoc on The Bold and the Beautiful for decades, the character started tormenting the good people of Genoa City.
Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) was at the top of Sheila’s hit list, reigning terror on the fashion icon for years.
The villain has once again been presumed dead and then alive over on B&b, thanks to Deacon (Sean Kanan).
We know that Lauren visits Deacon this week on The Bold and the Beautiful to shut down his “Sheila is alive” claims.
However, back on Y&r, Lauren and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) mentioned Sheila, which has the rumor mill buzzing that a new crossover is in the works.
Is Sheila returning to The Young and the Restless?
It’s no coincidence that Lauren keeps popping up on B&b,...

Young and the Restless predictions suspect Harrison Locke may be used as a weapon against the Newman family on the CBS daytime drama.
Harrison Locke Missing on Young and the Restless
This week, on Y&r, Harrison Locke (Redding Munsell) is Jordan Howard’s (Colleen Zenk) hostage. The little boy went missing right after Claire Grace (Haley Erin) brought him upstairs to read him a bedtime story at the Abbott mansion.
Currently, Claire looks like the main suspect, especially to Harrison’s mother, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier). However, the Newmans suspect Jordan is behind it and that she snatched up both Claire and Harrison.
Y&r | CBS
Indeed, they know there’s a slight chance Claire was manipulated into working with Jordan on Young and the Restless. But, they also know it’s not likely. They all believe Claire is trustworthy and loyal to them.

The last time fans saw Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) in the Young and the Restless (Y&r) was in May 2023 during the show’s 50th anniversary celebrations. He surprised friends and family when he arrived at the Jazz Club to honor Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John).
Both Malcolm and Shemar are fan favorites on the show, so what would the actor do if the soap came calling, once more?
Shemar Moore – “I Would Go …”
During an interview with First For Women, actor Shemar Moore revealed that if the Y&r called “today”, he would go. He also added that if Criminal Minds asked him to return, he’d go.
He adds that one should never forget where they came from and goes on to say that it may sound “cheesy” and “cliched”, but it’s true.
With the announcement recently that his show S.W.A.T. has been canceled from CBS’s primetime line-up,...

Young and the Restless (Y&r) spoilers indicate that just when fans thought Jordan (Colleen Zenk) was as good as gone, the villainess has found a way to do the impossible once again, and escape police custody.
What seemingly started as a small stint to introduce Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) into the Newman family, Jordan has become a very popular character on the soap; sort of a villainess fans love to hate.
Do to her horrible ways, it doesn’t seem as if she’ll become a permanent fixture on the show; however, a possible slight change in her storyline could change all that.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – The Cat & Mouse Game
Y&R spoilers suggest that Jordan’s ability to escape sticky situations has become interesting, but with this last hospital one, they’ve now become outlandish and predictable.

Rihanna‘s songs have changed pop culture forever. That doesn’t mean she thinks all of them are great. She had mixed feelings about her first single, coating it to a nursery rhyme. One of the song’s writers said the tune would set her on the path to becoming pop culture royalty.
Rihanna wasn’t too impressed with 1 song when she heard it over the phone
“Pon de Replay” was co-written by Alisha Brooks, Vada Nobles, Carl Sturken, and Evan Rogers. It’s not one of the more sophisticated tunes in her catalog but it’s undeniably catchy. On top of that, artists rarely debut with their best work. During a 2020 interview with Vulture, Rogers revealed that Rihanna had misgivings about the track. “I played it for Rihanna over the phone,” he recalled. “She was like ‘Uncle Ev, it sounds like a nursery rhyme. I like it, but I don’t know.

The academy released the 2043 Oscars shortlists in 10 categories on Thursday, December 21. The hopefuls in a wide range of races found out if they remain in contention for the 96th annual Academy Awards. The Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Sound and Best Visual Effects races were culled from dozens of entries to 10 apiece.

Kate McKinnon returned to Studio 8H to host "Saturday Night Live" for the first time this weekend. Though it might feel like a long time since McKinnon left the late night sketch comedy series, she only just departed in 2022 at the end of season 47, along with Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, and Pete Davidson. But how did McKinnon fare hosting "SNL" without Bryant, her frequent partner in comedy?
Honestly, a pairing of the two comedians was missed in the Christmas episode of "SNL," but executive producer Lorne Michaels tried to make up for the lack of Bryant's guest appearance with the return of two other alums: Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig. Not only did the two appear in the monologue to sing an "SNL" rendition of "I'll Be Home for Christmas," but they popped up in two of the better sketches of the evening. However, we shouldn't sleep on musical guest and former host Billie Eilish,...

Asit Kumarr Modi, the maker of the show, has been trying too hard to get back his old audience and retain the current ones.

Because of the changes in the central cast in the show and the change in concept from the real, raw, authentic family problems to focusing more on the social issues, controversies around how the old cast left and many more things, viewers were really getting frustrated with the show.

When James Gunn's version of the Man of Steel arrives on screen in 2025, he might be facing off against a DC hero who's just as powerful as he is -- The Engineer. Though plot details of "Superman: Legacy" are still under wraps, casting news about the first major DC Universe project planned under the Gunn-Safran era has once again begun to break now that the SAG-AFTRA strike has ended. The latest cast edition is María Gabriela De Faría, who's set to play the aforementioned nano-powered character, per Deadline.
De Faría joins a growing ensemble that includes both traditional, universally recognized Superman characters ("Pearl" actor David Corenswet will be Clark Kent to "Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" star Rachel Brosnahan's Lois Lane) and more eclectic members of the DC back catalog. Origins is a recurring series giving artists a space to break down everything that went into their latest release. Today, Slothrust take us through their cover of Ginuwine’s “Pony.”
Slothrust have announced their latest EP, I Promise, set for release on October 20th. As the first taste of the project, the rock duo has unleashed a reinterpretation of Ginuwine’s sensual classic “Pony.”
Swapping bombastic R&b for sleek, bass-driven rock, Slothrust’s “Pony” honors the original by treating it with reverence and respect, rather than poking fun. The result is a hard-rocking rendition complete with distorted low-end, syrupy guitar lines, hard-hitting drums, and hypnotic lead vocals.
“When Slothrust covers other people’s songs, our goal is always to offer them through a different lens,” vocalist Leah Wellbaum says of the cover. “We grew up listening to a lot of ’90s R&b, and ‘Pony’ was always one of our favorites.

The 2023 BET Awards honored the 50th anniversary of hip-hop with dozens of performances that played like a musical family reunion as pioneers of the genre blazed the stage during a hostless but party-filled show held during the writers strike.
The Sugarhill Gang, Big Daddy Kane, Mc Lyte, Doug E. Fresh, Erick Sermon and Keith Murray performed Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, celebrating rap music and honoring its roots as well as its domination in pop culture.
Ja Rule, Red Man, E-40, Master P, Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Styles P, T.I., Fabolous, Trick Daddy, Trina, Uncle Luke and Skillz hit the stage, helping the four-hour-show flow during the writers strike, which several presenters acknowledged before giving out awards, including Grammy-winning singer Muni Long.
“Let’s take a moment to acknowledge and stand in solidarity with the artists who make us laugh, cry and, most important, think — our Writers Guild of America family.

Cher has listed her stunning Malibu home back on the market again for a cool $75 million, nearly $10 million less than it was listed for last year. The “Believe” singer first purchased the 1.7-acre property for $2.95 million in 1989, before spending five years customizing it to her personal taste.
The Academy Award-winner’s 13,200 square-foot mansion, which features seven bedrooms, a swimming pool, tennis courts and Turkish baths, previously went on the market for about $85 million after appearing in an Architectural Digest last September. The mansion also has an outdoor gym, cinema and even a temperature-controlled room dedicated to storing the star’s wigs. “Every room has two different views of the ocean,” Cher said, referring to the mansion’s breathtaking views over California’s Pacific coast. “This house wraps its arms around you.”
Inspired by Cher’s years of travels, the home design references Renaissance villas of Europe, Venetian palazzos and the Alhambra Palace in Spain.

Gunsmoke set a record as the longest-running scripted television show on primetime with 20 seasons under its belt between 1955 and 1975. It went down in history as one of the greatest Western dramas ever to hit the screen, but some fans would argue that the awards season didn’t give it the attention that it deserved. Gunsmoke won five Emmy Awards over its 20 seasons, although none of them went to lead actor James Arness.

A Canadian documentary maker whose film helped police crack one of the art world’s biggest fraud cases has been forced to surrender his source material to the Ontario Provincial Police as part of a production order.
Jamie Kastner is the director of “There Are No Fakes,” a 2019 documentary that uncovered an art fraud ring that passed off fake paintings as originals by the celebrated Indigenous artist Norval Morrisseau, known for his vibrant paintings of the natural world and First Nations mythology. The eye-opening film, which premiered at Hot Docs in Toronto, revealed there were up to 10 times more Morrisseau forgeries on the market as there were real works, and that the artist’s own nephew may have been complicit in helping to produce the fakes.

The Oscars 2023 has an impressive list of 10 Best Picture nominees. This year’s group ranges from big blockbusters, such as Avatar: The Way of Water, to a foreign war drama with All Quiet on the Western Front. Here’s a ranking of the Best Picture nominees ranked from worst to best.
10. ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ Sigourney Weaver as Kiri | 20th Century Studios
James Cameron’s long-awaited Avatar: The Way of Water brings audiences back to the luscious world of Pandora. It’s a technical marvel, employing visual and auditory crafts to perfection. Cameron improves upon the first Avatar, but it misses out on a much-needed emotional impact. Perhaps one of the planned sequels will find a better balance and a more compelling story that could push it over the edge.
9. ‘Elvis’ Austin Butler as Elvis Presley | Warner Bros. Pictures

A decade ago, the visual effects industry hit a creative high note when Ang Lee’s adaptation of Life of Pi — highlighted by an extraordinary photoreal CG Bengal tiger — won the VFX honor at the 2013 BAFTA awards. But the celebration quickly turned to devastation when, shortly after, in Los Angeles, the film’s lead VFX company, Rhythm & Hues (R&h), began calling artists to let them go. Recalls Academy member and former employee Gene Kozicki, “It didn’t matter if you were an Academy Award-winning VFX supervisor or a production manager with 13 years’ tenure — if you weren’t working on a show right then, you were laid off.” Weeks before its work collected the VFX honor at the Oscars, the 25-year-old studio filed for bankruptcy.

Survivor champ and The Challenge: USA winner Sarah Lacina called out Tony Vlachos for his real job as a police officer, eventually leading to one of the most successful alliances in franchise history, Cops-R-Us. During a recent interview, the Game Changers winner admitted production played a role in helping her discover Tony’s true identity.
Sarah Lacina reveals how producers helped her identify Tony Vlachos as a cop
Speaking to podcast Challenge Mania during a February 2023 appearance, Iowa-based investigator Sarah Lacina noticed Tony Vlachos during casting and felt he looked, dressed, and walked like a cop.
Additionally, Sarah recalled him repeatedly getting brought up in her interviews and realized producers “lit up” when she identified him as a police officer, clueing her in. When asked about using production as an edge in the game, the Iowa native noted she used her Cagayan experience with them to help her game in subsequent seasons.

R Kelly’s legal team will get its chance to question the government’s star witness on Friday after she gave what jurors could see as damning testimony against Kelly at his federal trial in Chicago on charges that include the production of child pornography.
“Jane”, the pseudonym used for her during the trial, has been central to Kelly’s legal troubles for more than two decades. She testified for over four hours on Thursday, telling jurors it was her and Kelly in a videotape that was at the heart of his 2008 child pornography trial, at which he was acquitted.
When a prosecutor asked Jane how old she was at the time the video was shot, she answered quietly: “14.” Kelly, 55, would have been around 30 years old at the time.

This review of “Emergency” was first published Jan. 20, 2022, after its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
To walk the world knowing that you are presumed a threat is the harrowing burden at the heart of “Emergency.” That appalling reality sets three young men of color on a nightmarishly nerve-racking drive, for taking the socially acceptable right course of action in a dire situation could endanger not only their future academic prospects but also their lives.
Walking a thematic line about the racial biases that plague America’s institutions and society at large akin to other such recent indie productions as “Blindspotting,” “The Land” or “Monsters and Men,” the sophomore effort from director Carey Williams (whose debut “R#J” was a social-media take on “Romeo and Juliet”) strikes a difficult equilibrium between its disquieting observations and comedic inclinations.

Two best friends, one drunk stranger, and a pretty messed up memorable night: It’s a total “Emergency.”
Director Carey William’s Sundance breakout premieres stars Donald Elise Watkins and Rj Cyler as college seniors looking to get down for Spring Break. But their “legendary tour” of the most elite parties takes an unexpected turn after the roommates discover a drunk, semi-conscious woman (Maddie Nichols) in their apartment. Even worse: Their roommate, played by Sebastian Chacon, has no idea when the girl appeared.
As the college students debate over calling the cops to report a drunk white woman nearly passed out at the home of two Black men with their Latino roommate, they decide to transport the girl somewhere safe themselves. Meanwhile, her sister (Sabrina Carpenter) is also trying to find them.
K.D. Dávila penned the script and also was behind director Williams’ 2018 short film of the same name.

2022 was supposed to be different: The return of the physical component of the Sundance Film Festival, with requirements such as fully boosted attendees and regular testing, was meant to return. But after omicron’s surge, the festival is now entering its second straight year as strictly a virtual affair. Nevertheless, from year to year, there’s always a difference at Sundance. It’s the films. And in this case, films directed by Black creators.
We’ve combed through this year’s lineup to select 10 exciting long-form works directed by Black folks, most making their feature debuts, which compose a diverse assortment of stories that survey academia, policing, systematic bias, anti-capitalist, and anti-colonialist themes from a uniquely Black perspective. Here are the exciting Black-helmed projects, from incisive docuseries to adventurous feature films, to look out for at this year’s Sundance.

Five bored young billionaires become vampires in “Dead & Beautiful,” a middling horror-thriller and social satire that opens with an intriguing premise but never probes its cashed-up characters deeply enough to create gripping drama from the heightened hedonism or existential crises they experience after acquiring new powers. Slickly photographed in a neon-drenched Taipei and featuring an attractive young cast, this riff on the eternal tale by Dutch filmmaker David Verbeek scores early points by drawing parallels between mythological vampirism and the modern metaphorical vampirism of rich elites before losing its sting and meandering toward an unsurprising “surprise” conclusion. After notching appearances at festivals including Rotterdam, Sitges and Fantastic Fest, “Dead & Beautiful” releases Nov. 4 in North America and the U.K. on genre streaming platform Shudder.

After a few disappointing events from WWE, the company heads to the Middle East for the first time in over a year. Emanating from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Crown Jewel came with an absolutely stacked card, however the Saudi Arabia events often come with a fair share of controversy. And they often seem to be the times when WWE pulls some of their worst booking decisions or puts on matches that result in disaster. That said, there have been shows that have come off well (if flawed), like 2018’s Greatest Royal Rumble or Crown Jewel 2019, so could this super scaled show in 2021 dig WWE out of its major rut of late?
