Sex & Nudity

  • A man in prison is strip searched multiple times and is shown fully naked. His pubic hair, penis, scrotum, and buttocks are shown briefly in more than one instance, as are other inmates in later scenes. Camera angles avoid showing more than a glimpse of his genitals.
  • A pornographic poster depicting a topless woman with sprawled out with a hand resting across the front of her panties is shown multiple times. Her breasts and nipples are fully visible, and the image takes up most of the screen more than once.
  • Photos of a young woman are shown with crude images drawn on them in marker. More than one of the photos show her performing oral sex, and at least one shows her with exaggerated cartoon breasts. All are poorly drawn and are done with simple black outlines.
  • It is implied that the other inmates wish to have sex with and/or rape the main character upon his arrival at the prison, but this could be interpreted in a variety of ways.
  • A pornographic poster depicting a topless woman sprawled out with her hand resting across the front of her panties is shown multiple times. Her breasts and nipples are fully visible, and the image takes up most of the screen more than once.
  • A pornographic movie is playing on the television, where a man is performing explicit oral sex on a woman.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is attacked with a pool ball in a stairwell after his head is shoved into a pillowcase. His head is then bashed into a concrete step once he's unconscious, and blood is shown soaking through the pillow case's fabric. His bloodied teeth and jaw are shown as well.
  • A man is stripped naked and roughly questioned by a couple of guards. When the man becomes angry and tries shoving the guard away, he is pinned to the floor with his arm twisted behind his back. He screams in agony as the scene plays out.

Profanity

  • In the Australian subtitled version, the f-word is dropped multiple times, as well as the s-word, g--d--n, d--n, and the word hell.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A couple of inmates smoke a joint handmade by the main character. Characters, including the main character's elderly grandmother, are shown smoking throughout the film.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • While not particularly disturbing, a man poops in a trashcan in order to expel an object that has been shoved up his rectum. This is common in prisons, and while the object nor the actual shoving is shown, it is implied by the man removing his pants, squatting down, and making grunting noises as he holds his breath and scrunches up his face.
