I'm not going to remember anything soon anyway

A well written essay on the ephemeral nature of memory, the march of time and dementia. Lots of imagery and metaphor, fine performances form Nicole Kidman and Judy Davis, but ultimately this is snack food rather than fine dining.

Find This Boring After The First Episode
Mehki_Girl3 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I love Judy Davis ever since I saw her in one Woody Allen's movies. I was distracted my Nicole Kidman's (kudos to you, Ms. Davis for aging normally - you still look lovely).

Nicole, whatever you're doing to your face... And your mouth, please just stop. Takea page from Ms. Davis.

After the first episode, which kept me watching to see what would happen next, this was a bit of a letdown, despite the subject being certainly relevant.

I kept waiting for the... punchline.

Mothers and daughters

'I don't like talking to her. I don't like spending time with her. But I love her. I don't want to lose her.' Robin is losing her mum to dementia. I lost my mum to cancer. Feelings are complicated and this gets it exactly right.

What an lovely episode!

This episode is beautifully written and directed, the photo-flashbacks and how hard it is to put the ´remember´ into discussion when dealing with mental health.

But the best of all is Nicole & Judy, together they were fenomenal. Best episode so far.

Tenderness
waterlilys17 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This poor woman has multiple traumas to deal with at the same time. Each one would be hard to deal with. The mother's dementia, so painful for all involved... and it was so real. The scene with her husband when he realizes she is in trouble, was so tender , and loving. Great writing, great acting, Simon Baker was stellar! Wish it was longer, left me wanting more... don't know why is classified as comedy though!?
