Sex & Nudity

  • None. There are no sex or nudity shown in this movie. It's completely family drama.
  • A 12 year old girl kisses another 12 year old boy on the cheek. Very innocent and nothing sexual at all.
  • A boy and a girl share an innocent kiss. We don't actually see anything.

Violence & Gore

  • We learn that two boys are dying of leukemia and cancer
  • A boy has a sudden severe nose bleed and we see large amounts of blood pour out of his nose and he tries to hide it and blood runs all down his fingers and hands but it stops after a few seconds. This happens again but it's not so graphic
  • A boy tries to drink juice but is also grieving badly and as hes also ill, he vomits it up as he breaks into tears and hugs his mother. We see the vomit come out of his mouth. Can be upsetting and sickening for young viewers
  • A boy frequently has severe pains in his abdomen causing minor fits. We se clearly that he is in pain which causes awful distress for his parents.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A boy with cancer asks another boy to help him buy a packet of cigarettes. It's obvious he smokes.
  • A 12 year old boy with leukemia tries smoking but coughs and stops after one puff
  • Three children drink about three shots of Cherry Liqueur experimenting

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The whole movie is very sad and emotional. It's all based on the last months of a boy with leukemia.
  • We learn that a boy has leukemia very likely to die in a few months. He is very sick and has nose bleeds frequently, abdominal pain and vomits.
  • A boy grieves over the death of his best friend. He looses appetite, throws away all the books, things he made with him and later, vomits and breaks into tears in his mothers arms. Very intense and emotional
  • A girl is worried and scared for her sick brother and on his last couple of days alive, she gets onto his bed and cuddles with him. Very emotional but innocent and sweet

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A boy with cancer dies. We see him lying in a bed looking very sick and he stops breathing. We later see his dead body in a coffin which upsets another boy. Very emotional seeing as you become attached to that character.
  • The main character dies at the end of the movie. We see him on his last day lying in bed with his eyes barely open as he whispers "I love you" to his parents and closes his eyes. The death is offscreen but hearing about it is incredibly emotional and his love interest throws seeds on the ground saying she will plant a tree for heaven for him.
