Exclusive: Emmy-nominated Succession director Lorene Scafaria is back at HBO to direct and executive produce the network’s half-hour comedy pilot starring, written and executive produced by Rachel Sennott.
In the untitled project, a codependent friend group reunites, navigating how the time apart, ambition and new relationships have changed them.
Scafaria directed the Succession episodes “Too Much Birthday”, “Living+”, and “Honeymoon States,” the first two of which earned her Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series category.
This marks Scafaria’s return to comedy; she previously directed multiple episodes of Fox’s New Girl. Additionally, she wrote and directed the 2019 feature Hustlers. Scafaria is repped by UTA and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
