- Price: ["The Enemy of My Enemy"; over radio] Makarov, this is Price. Shepherd's a war hero now. He's got your operations playbook and he's got a blank check. Give me what you've got on Shepherd, and I'll take care of the rest.
- [no answer]
- Price: I know you can hear me on this channel, Makarov. You and I both know you won't last a week.
- Vladimir Makarov: ...And neither will you.
- Price: Makarov... You ever hear the old saying, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"?
- Vladimir Makarov: Price, one day you're going to find that cuts both ways. Shepherd is using Site Hotel Bravo. You know where it is. I'll see you in hell.
- Price: Looking forward to it. Give my regards to Zakhaev if you get there first.
- Price: ["Just Like Old Times"; opening] The healthy human mind doesn't wake up in the morning thinking this is it's last day on Earth. But I think that's a luxury, not a curse. To know you're close to the end is a kind of freedom. Good time to take... inventory. Outgunned. Outnumbered. Out of our minds. On a suicide mission. But the sands and rocks here stained with thousands of years of warfare... they will remember us. For this. Because out of all our vast array of nightmares, this is the one we choose for ourselves. We go forward like a breath exhaled from the Earth. With vigor in our hearts and one goal in sight: *We. Will. Kill him.*
- Price: ["Endgame"; voice recording, regarding Shepherd] This is for the record. History is written by the victor. History is filled with liars. If he lives and we die, his truth becomes written - and ours is lost. Shepherd will a hero, 'cause all you need to change the world is one good lie and a river of blood. He's about to complete the greatest trick a liar ever played on history. His truth will be the truth. But only if he lives, and we die.
- Anatoly: ["No Russian"; during extraction] We've sent a strong message with this attack, Makarov.
- Vladimir Makarov: That was no message...
- [shoots Allen]
- Vladimir Makarov: ...*This* is a message.
- [shuts the door as the vehicle drives away]
- Vladimir Makarov: The American thought he could deceive us. When they find that body... all of Russia will cry for war.
- General Shepherd: Do you have the DSM?
- Ghost: We got it, sir!
- General Shepherd: Good, that's one less loose end.
- [pulls out his revolver and shoots Roach and Ghost]
- Price: ["Endgame"; Nikolai arrives to pick up Price and a wounded Soap; sounding irritated] I thought I told you this was a one-way trip.
- Nikolai: Looks like it still is. They'll be looking for us, you know.
- Price: [as Nikolai rushes to keep Soap from collapsing] Nikolai, we've gotta get Soap outta here.
- Nikolai: Da - I know a place.
- General Shepherd: ["Team Player"; opening voiceover] We are the most powerful military force in the history of man. *Every* fight is our fight. Because what happens over here matters over there. We don't get to "sit one out". Learning to use the tools of modern warfare is the difference between the prospering of your people, and utter destruction. We can't give you freedom, but we *can* give you the know-how on how to acquire it. And *that*, my friends, is worth more than a whole army base of steel. Sure, it matters who's got the biggest stick, but it matters a helluva lot more who's swinging it. This is a time for heroes. A time for legends. History is written by the victors. Let's get to work.
- Vladimir Makarov: The world has been your battlefield. Everywhere you go the blood of brothers & sons screams out against you. Perhaps you cannot yet hear it, because the soil is not your own. But you will... You will.
- Captain 'Soap' MacTavish: ["The Enemy of My Enemy"; opening] Shepherd betrayed us!
- Price: Have to trust someone to be betrayed. I never did.
- Corporal Dunn: ["Wolverines!"; running through the suburban area] Sarge, did Command just tell us to go "F" ourselves?
- Sergeant Foley: Pretty much, Corporal.
- ["The Gulag"; Prisoner 627, a.k.a. Captain John Price aims an AK-47 at a dazed Roach]
- Captain 'Soap' MacTavish: [aiming pistol at the prisoner] Drop it!
- Price: ...Soap?
- Captain 'Soap' MacTavish: [surprised] Price?
- [reverses the pistol and hands it to Price]
- Captain 'Soap' MacTavish: This belongs to *you*, sir.
- Worm: [as Price holsters the gun; confused] Who's "Soap"?
- soldier 1: ["Team Player"; waiting for the bombing run] Hey, isn't this danger close for the task force?
- Corporal Dunn: C'mon, since when does Shepherd care about danger close?
- ["Endgame"; Soap is lying on the ground, stabbed in the chest by General Shepherd]
- General Shepherd: Five years ago, I lost 30,000 men in the blink of an eye... and the world just fuckin' watched.
- [he reloads his revolver]
- General Shepherd: Tomorrow, there will be no shortage of volunteers, no shortage of patriots.
- [he prepares to execute Soap]
- General Shepherd: I know you understand.
- Price: ["Contingency"; as he and Roach come across an enemy patrol team] Five men, automatic rifles, frag grenades. One German Shepherd.
- Captain 'Soap' MacTavish: [over radio] Dogs. I *hate* dogs.
- Price: These Russian dogs are like pussycats compared to the ones in Pripyat.
- Captain 'Soap' MacTavish: It's good to have you back, old man.
- Price: Roger that.
- General Shepherd: ["Team Player"; mission start] Get up, Private Allen! Rangers lead the way! *Move!*
- General Shepherd: ["S.S.D.D."; introduction/opening voiceover] The more things change, the more they stay the same. Boundaries shift, new players step in, but power always finds a place to rest its head. We fought and bled along side the Russians. We shoulda' known they'd hate us for it. History is written by the victor, and here I a thinking we won. But you bring down one enemy and they find someone even worse to replace him. Locations change, the rationale, the objective. Yesterday's enemies are today's recruits. Train them to fight alongside you, and pray they don't eventually decide to *hate* you for it, too.
- Captain 'Soap' MacTavish: ["Cliffhanger"; he spots someone to shoot] He's mine.
- [if Roach makes the kill first]
- Captain 'Soap' MacTavish: Nevermind.
- Ghost: [to Soap while chasing Rojas] He's getting away!
- Captain 'Soap' MacTavish: No, he's not.
- [jumps out of a window, tackling Rojas onto car one story below]
- Vladimir Makarov: Revenge is like a ghost... It takes over every man it touches... Its thirst cannot be quenched... Until the last man standing has fallen...
- General Shepherd: [during mission "Endgame" if you choose not to approach Shepherd] You know what they say about revenge, you'd better be ready to dig two graves. Go ahead, end it. It won't change anything. Hmph, I knew you couldn't do it. You're a good warrior, but you could never take that extra step to do what was absolutely necessary.
- P.F.C Joseph Allen: So Makarov is the prize.
- General Shepherd: Makarov's no prize; he's a whore. A mad-dog killer for the highest bidder.
- USAF Bomber Pilot: ["Whiskey Hotel"; repeating over the intercom] This is 2251 to any friendly units in D.C. Hammer Down is in effect, I repeat, Hammer Down is in effect. If you can receive this transmission you are in a hardened, high value structure. Deploy green flares on the roof of this structure to indicate you are still combat effective. We will abort our mission on direct visual contact with this countersign.
- Sergeant Foley: [as the squad moves through the Round Office] Dunn, get the door!
- [Dunn doesn't hear him; he's checking behind a painting for the source of the Hammer Down message, finding the PA system]
- Sergeant Foley: *Dunn!*
- Corporal Dunn: *Sarge, are you readin' this?*
- Sergeant Foley: *That's* why we gotta go! Now *get* the door!
- Corporal Dunn: ["Second Sun"; frightened by the aftermath of the EMP] What the hell are we gonna do now, man? Russians got us outnumbered, shit's falling from the sky - we're screwed, man! We're totally...
- Sergeant Foley: *Shut up!* Get a grip, Corporal! Our weapons still work, which means we can still kick some ass!
- Corporal Dunn: ["Team Player"; moving through the school building] Yeah, I'm cuttin' through history class now!
- Sergeant Foley: Roger that.
- soldier 1: [after the white apartment building collapses in "Team Player"] The network's gonna pay big for this one!
- soldier 2: Keep dreamin', Spielberg!
- soldier 1: No, man, seriously; that was *extreme!*
- General Shepherd: ["No Russian"; prepping PFC Allen for his undercover mission with Ultranationalist terrorist, Vladimir Makarov] This man Makarov is fighting his own war and he has no rules, no boundaries. He doesn't flinch at torture, human trafficking or genocide. He's not loyal to a country or a flag or any set of ideals. He trades blood for money. He's your new best friend.
- Captain 'Soap' MacTavish: ["Cliffhanger"; if Roach fails to kill a target] I guess I have to do everything myself?
- US Ranger: [Looking upon the ruins of Washington DC after retaking it from the Russians] So, when are we going to Moscow?
- Corporal Dunn: Not soon enough, man. But I know we're gonna burn it down when we get there.
- Sergeant Foley: When the time's right, corporal. When the time's right.
