The scene at the beach was originally planed to have spoken dialogue. Due to sound issues during production, the scene had to be remade as mute, with the typewriter writing the dialogue.
Miquel is the Catalan version of the name "Michael" derived from the name Mikha'el, meaning "who is like God?" in Hebrew. The short film depicts a writer, a creator who is like God.
