Magic arrives on L.A.'s red carpet, Pat returns to the Lakers, and Buss tries to reel in Tark the shark in Vegas.

Episode 3 "The Best Is Yet to Come" from "HBO's" "Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty", was once again an entertaining and revealing well done episode of the series. After Jerry West has suddenly resigned as Lakers head coach owner Jerry Buss(the great John C. Reilly) is hot headed and a mess really desperate as he goes out to the dry hot lands of Las Vegas to try and reel in Tark the shark as the next head coach of the Lakers. Also a past face that being former player Pat Riley has washed up and away from the beach and in the front office as he's trying to join the team as their color commentator on the radio network, yet his voice just doesn't seem meant. And last but not least Magic has arrived in L. A. going to red carpet events as he sees famous stars like Bill Cosby! Plus the Magic man continues his wild and exploring like ways of having casual sex and going to sex parties. The series continues to be revealing and entertaining as this was another super just fine great episode that will have me still watching the series.

The Best Is Yet to Come
Prismark1024 April 2022
I liked this mainly for the acting. The actors certainly get to chew the scenery and it was fun.

As someone not familiar with the history of the LA Lakers. I do get lost with some of the characters.

Jerry Buss has to look for a new coach after Jerry West resigns.

It's another Jerry and he is in Las Vegas coaching college basketball.

The episode also introduces a new character. Pat Riley played by Adrien Brody. A former player who is at a loss since he retired.

I guess Riley will have an important role in the LA Lakers story.

I did think the weak link was Magic Johnson. I want to see him play rather than his arrival in LA and the party scene.

Another great episode

This might be the strongest episode yet. The production level is very high. The editing and cinematography are unique and looks great.

The cast was already great, but it's even greater now with the addition of Adrian Brody, Jillian Jacobs and Sally Field. John C. Reilly is surprisingly a great as the main man. The acting is superb overall.

Sorry, as soon as I saw Britta I had to quote Community in this and since there's a minimum amount of words needed for this review, this is why I'm writing all of this instead of just leaving the quote title.

Series is getting worse...
OCbeachdude21 March 2022
I've been a Laker fan since the age of 9, and was ready and expecting to love this series... smh

My ratings so far: Episode 1 - 6 Episode 2 - 5 Episode 3 - 3

I'm disappointed that this isn't more of a docu-drama, and instead is a farcical, tongue in cheek, hardeharhar look back that's getting worse.

E3 is a real pos.
