It just keeps getting better

Warning: Spoilers
This episode cements the fact that Dana and her team had a plan right from the beginning. This is a payoff that I did not see coming, but fits perfectly with the world and characters we've come to know and love.

Having the baddie of this episode being a conspiracy nut was a work of utter brilliance! Too often someone like that will be played up as "the only one knowing the truth," which can be..... problematic in many ways. Knowing one fact and then going WAAAAY off track with it is such a perfect lesson to highlight, especially in the modern era.

Best of all, we get more of Luz's mom!! When she brandishes a sandal and delivers that one line in response to "I'm the good guy," I literally screamed with excitement!

This show is a work of art that needs to be studied and held up as the gold standard of animated shows!

One of the best chapters of the series with revelations that will surely affect the future of the series and with many references to past chapters, including the pilot that never came out. I will miss the series too much. Thank you Dana Terrace and all the team that makes this possible!

Didn't predict this one. It is clear that they have a story to tell. It sucks that theu got cancelled earlier than they wanted.

Fantastic mid season finale

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode Luz manages to create a portal door that leads to the inbetween realm(which was foreshadowed in Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Hooty's door). In this mysterious realm Luz discovers that she can use inbetween cubes(idk if they have a name) to communicate with people through reflections. This episode concludes the Luz doppelganger plotline by revealing who the second Luz is. Turns out its a basilisk(basilisks were introduced in The first day) called Vee who escaped the emperor and fled to the human realm. This episode develops Camila, Vee and Luz. Vee's backstory is tragic, Camila is a great mom and Luz's character regression is very well done. The highlight of this episode is by far the ending, Luz and Camila's conversation is heartbreaking with Camila finding out Luz chose to stay in the demon realm and thinking its because Luz didn't like living with her and Luz trying to explain herself but not having enough time due to being pulled out(because the portal was closing).

This was an overall excellent episode and fantastic mid season finale.
