Life's Blood

I found this film to be a moving and spiritual portrayal of a young Native American artist's struggle with addiction and finding himself. The ending provides a hopeful message for a brighter future as the young man ventures toward his culture and history rather than continuing to run away from it through addiction. The lead actor brings the right amount of self-loathing, emotion, and youthful resilience to the role. The original artwork shown throughout the film is effective in emphasizing the artist's internal wrestlings in a tangible, visual way, adding to the poignancy of the film. Artistic, spiritual, and moving. Definitely a short film worth seeing!
