"We're here to rob the bank... Don't be a hero!" Lionsgate has debuted an official Us trailer for American Heist, an action-thriller-drama from Armenian filmmaker Sarik Andreasyan starring Adrien Brody and Hayden Christensen as brothers with troubled pasts who get dragged into another bank robbery. It's yet another bank robbers need to leave their past but get caught up in one more job kind of movie, complete with the face mask heist and everything. Jordana Brewster, Tory Kittles and Akon also star in the film. It honestly doesn't look that great, yet another bland version of this same old story, but you never know. Here's the new Us trailer for Sarik Andreasyan's American Heist, in high def originally from Apple: If you're feeling like you've seen some of this before, we also ran an international trailer late last year. American Heist is directed by Armenian filmmaker Sarik Andreasyan (Pregnant...

"Banks are an essential threat to our democracy, so consider this justice." After winning an Academy Award for The Pianist, it's unfortunate that the career of Adrien Brody has mostly derailed. I couldn't even tell you the last time I saw a great movie with Brody in it, and that doesn't look to change with this international trailer for the Tiff selected American Heist. All the cliches of a crime thriller are on display, and while Hayden Christensen doesn't seem all that bad for once, this just looks like it's trying to be Heat meets Fast Five (they even got Jordana Brewster on board), but not nearly as good as either. Here's the international trailer for Sarik Andreasyan's American Heist from Voltage Pictures: American Heist is directed by Armenian filmmaker Sarik Andreasyan and written by Raul Inglis (Transparency, Suddenly). Frankie (Hayden Christensen) and James (Adrien Brody) are two...

Though Johnny Cash is usually more likely to be found on a film's soundtrack than up onscreen, he did notch up a few credits before deciding that music was the world that better suited him. One of his better-known roles was as crazed criminal Johnny Cabot in 1961's Five Minutes To Live, and now someone else will be taking it on as Jan de Bont has been hired to remake the movie.De Bont hasn’t stepped behind the camera since 2003’s less-than-successful action sequel Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life, and while he’s had a few possible projects pop up here and there, we were starting to wonder whether he might be spending the rest of his career in director jail. But producers Joseph and Jack Nasser have now decided he’s the man to make the new version of Five Minutes, for which Transparency’s...

Man, what's happened to Jan Du Bont? Speed was great, Twister was fun (if only for the flying cow), and as for The Haunting ... well ... What Do You Think This Is?!?! Some Type Of Game?!? Hopefully with his latest flick he can rebound.

If you didn’t know that the legendary Johnny Cash dabbled in acting while he was still alive, it’s okay — I wasn’t aware, either. All blatant ignorance aside, Deadline reports that Dutch filmmaker Jan de Bont will direct a remake of Cash‘s 1961 film Five Minutes to Live.
Both the original and this remake are based on a story by Palmer Thompson; the new film, written by Raul Inglis (Transparency), centers on “two men as they execute a terrifying bank robbery. One guys holds the bank manager’s wife hostage and the other tells the manager she’ll be killed in five minutes unless he transfers money to an account of their choosing.” The Cash-starrer was also director Bill Karn‘s final film. No one has yet been found to replace the beloved musician, but casting will soon begin, under financiers Nasser Entertainment and Nasser Group North.

Five years ago, David’s daughter was raped when he was late picking her up, causing his wife to leave him, and his life to spiral down to him being a 3rd shift security guard in a large warehouse. He’s not the most sympathetic character when we first get to meet him; he’s trying to get a one night stand to leave in a most ungentlemanly manner.
He goes to work, and he and his partner Reg find a truck that hadn’t been properly logged out on their forms. They go to investigate, and David encounters a young girl, scared and speaking Serbian. He finds out her name is Anja, and deduces that she came from the truck. Here’s where things take off.
