Walton Goggins and Timothy Olyphant starred in Justified for six seasons, but by the end of its FX run, the actors were not on the best of terms.
Goggins first opened up about his fractured relationship with his co-star in Peter Biskind’s book Pandora’s Box: How Guts, Guile, and Greed Upended TV. In a new interview, Goggins once again said he and Olyphant “weren’t talking” by the show’s series finale.
“We had a tough time towards the end of Justified,” Goggins told The Independent. “We were so deep into these people we were playing, and they were so polar opposite at this point in the story… I think we were both obsessed with our own points of view, just carrying the weight of this conflict.”
However, with time passing, the two seem to have mended things, with Goggins reflecting and saying, “I think we just needed to separate,...

Were Justified Stars Not Speaking by End of Series? Timothy Olyphant, Walton Goggins Each Share POVs
Raylan Givens and Boyd Crowder “dug coal together,” but by the end of Justified‘s six-season run, Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins weren’t exchanging many words together — to hear at least one of the actors tell it.
In Peter Biskind’s November 2023 book, Pandora’s Box How Guts, Guile, and Greed Upended TV, Goggins is quoted as saying that he and Olyphant “weren’t talking” by the end of Justified’s run.

The cast of season two of Tulsa King keeps building, as Neal McDonough has signed on to appear as a series regular of the Paramount+ series.
The news that McDonough would be joining the cast of Tulsa King comes just one month after it was announced that Frank Grillo – who plays Brock Rumlow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – would be playing a vital role in season two, taking on the role of a mobster named Bill Bevilaqua. As for McDonough’s role, Variety reports that he will be playing “a powerful and extremely territorial businessman” named Cal Thresher.
McDonough has been a staple on television for a few decades now, with recurring roles on World War II miniseries Band of Brothers, animated series The Incredible Hulk, ABC’s Desperate Housewives, western Justified, and more.

A deserted road in the middle of the endless expanse of the American outback. Two opponents in hats face each other. Each is ready at a moment's notice to pull the trigger and send the enemy to the next world. Scenes like these take us back to a time when sheriffs and marshals were little different from criminals.
It's hard to imagine something like this in the 21st century, but Justified manages to tell the classic story of the Wild West in modern Kentucky in the most realistic and effective way possible. The premiere took place in 2010 and the finale was shown in 2015, but the series still deserves attention nine years after it ended.
Justified is not put on the same level as recognized masterpieces like The Sopranos or Breaking Bad, although at its best, this grandiose neo-western is no inferior to even the most popular TV series in history.

Prepare to see “Fallout” like you’ve never seen it before. Amazon Prime Video’s latest series may be based on the bestselling video games of the same name, but with new characters and mysteries, it’s sure to surprise even diehard fans.
Set in an alternate version of Earth, the series takes place in the same desolate world as the original games. After advances in nuclear technology following World War II led to the emergence of a retrofuturistic society, an apocalyptic nuclear exchange wiped out Earth as the people of 2077 knew it. Those who could afford it hid in their Vault-Tec vaults. As for the rest of humanity, they were forced to confront the horrors of this new world head on. Now over 200 years after that war, one young Vault Dweller will risk it all and travel to the surface.
Wondering which antihero to root for in this sci-fi dramedy?...

According to The Wrap, Pruitt Taylor-Vince has been cast as Jonathan Kent in James Gunn’s Superman. I can’t say that’s who I expected to play Clark Kent’s adoptive human father in the movie, but I’ve always been a big fan of the actor, who has appeared in everything from The X-Files to Deadwood to The Walking Dead.
Pruitt Taylor-Vince will join the long line of actors who have brought Jonathan Kent to life in movies and television, including Glenn Ford in the original Superman movie, John Schneider in Smallville, Kevin Costner in Man of Steel, and many more. As I mentioned above, Taylor-Vince might not feel like the obvious choice for the role, but he’s a true talent and I hope fans give him a chance.

This post contains spoilers for "Fallout" season 1, as well as "Justified" and "Justified: City Primeval."
If you watched "Fallout" this weekend and half-expected Deputy U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens himself to stroll across the show's post-apocalyptic wasteland, you're not alone. Despite not actually sharing a casting director with the FX neo-Western "Justified," the first few episodes of the new Prime Video series feature not just one or two but four different actors who previously appeared on the Kentucky-set drama. That's a whole lot of Harlan for one video game adaptation.
Walton Goggins, who stars in "Fallout" as the actor-turned-undead gunslinger known primarily as the Ghoul, is the most obvious connection between the two shows. On "Justified" and its recent follow-up series "Justified: City Primeval," Goggins played smooth-talking man in black Boyd Crowder, who spent most of the original show's six seasons at odds with Timothy Olyphant's lawman. Walton Goggins is no stranger to meaty roles he can make his own, and now the Emmy-nominated “Justified” actor is sinking his teeth into Amazon’s highly anticipated “Fallout,” an adaptation of the popular video game from “Westworld” duo Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. In the darkly funny post-apocalyptic series, which is now streaming on Prime Video, Goggins pulls double duty as The Ghoul, a disfigured, centuries-old immortal cowboy who’s been stripped of all his humanity, and Cooper Howard, the Hollywood actor he was before the bombs fell. But while Goggins often steals the show — a welcome habit at this point — it’s Ella Purnell’s Lucy who anchors the narrative. Raised in the underground fallout shelters known as Vaults, Lucy travels to the irradiated surface to search for her missing father (Kyle MacLachlan), and she’s shocked to discover a hyper-violent wasteland largely at odds with her inherently optimistic disposition,...

In a “Fallout” premiere packed with surprises, the Ghoul’s introduction is a nasty little treat. It’s a dark, blustery evening. Three men go grave-digging, but rather than robbing the dead, they’ve come with an offer. A rich bounty is up for grabs, and they need a little help to procure it. Honcho, the group’s leader, thinks he knows just the man for the job: a bounty hunter Honcho’s father used to work with, who’s been buried alive for years, maybe decades, at this very cemetery.
Things do not go according to plan for ol’ Honcho, but the scene executes its own ends with rousing style: It quickly establishes Walton Goggins’ Ghoul as a force to be reckoned with, while providing a delightful bonus for “Justified” fans: Goggins and Mykelti Williamson, together again.

This article contains casting spoilers for all eight episodes of Fallout.
The Fallout gaming franchise presents a big storytelling universe to play in. And that’s exactly what drew showrunners Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner to the Prime Video TV adaptation in the first place.
“It’s more creatively interesting to be able to build our own story in the world that they’ve carved out for us,” Wagner told Den of Geek. “That’s historically been the trajectory of Fallout. It’s traded hands many times, with different creative teams taking it over. It’s kept it fresh, kept it relevant. We chose to just vainly look at this as our Fallout.”
Of course, a big storytelling universe also requires a big cast to fill it up. Prime Video’s Fallout isn’t wanting for compelling lead characters thanks to Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell), Maximus (Aaron Moten), and The Ghoul...

The Western is one of the many genres that have endured in the vast canon of American film. And with Horizon: An American Saga set for release soon, all eyes will be on Kevin Costner to prove that the Western is still as appealing as it ever was.
It would not be incorrect, of course, to suggest that Costner’s forthcoming passion project is pushing the boundaries of his line of work. The Western epic is a big risk for the California-born actor, given how much of his own money went into financing the flick, which will be released in two parts.
Starring Sam Worthington, Costner, and Sienna Miller, among others, the film is set during the American Civil War.
Kevin Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga
Even though the backdrop and main idea of Horizon: An American Saga is fairly well-known, Costner might still score a career-high with this film.

Prime Video’s “Fallout,” inspired by the video game series, is launching an awards campaign ahead of this year’s Emmys, with the streamer eyeing nominations for outstanding drama series among others. Variety has exclusively learned the Emmy campaign strategies for its main actors: Walton Goggins, Ella Purnell and Aaron Moten.
Goggins, portraying the mutated gunslinger Cooper Howard, aka The Ghoul, and Purnell, playing young Vault Dweller Lucy, are both in the running for lead acting categories. Moten, who plays Maximus, the Brotherhood of Steel’s squire, aims for a supporting actor nod.
Set in an alternate history post-apocalyptic Earth, “Fallout” depicts the lives of survivors in Vaults, designed to preserve humanity following nuclear catastrophe. More than two centuries later, a young woman Lucy emerges from Vault 33 to explore a devastated Los Angeles.

Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins are set to share the screen in the upcoming post-apocalyptic series Fallout. However, beyond their on-screen talents lies a curiosity about their real-world standings, particularly regarding wealth and who reigns supreme in the wealth stakes among the leading stars of the series.

Hailing from the visionary minds behind Westworld, Lisa Joy, and Jonathan Nolan, the series unfolds in the aftermath of a devastating nuclear exchange in an alternate history. It follows Lucy MacLean’s journey as she ventures into the perilous wasteland of a decimated Los Angeles, over two centuries after the cataclysmic event.

It’s always fun to discuss horror novels that Aren’T Stephen King. No knock on the monster from Maine, he’s the master of horror novels over the last, oh I don’t know, 50 years, for a reason but its nice to not have the show be solely dedicated to his adapted works. He says knowing that he makes the schedule and decides what books to cover. See you in May, Mr. King! Funnily enough, the man actually loved today’s subject to the degree that he called it one of 2006’s best horror novels, but more on that in a little bit. The Ruins (watch it Here) was one of those hot properties by an author whose previous work was an instant success with critics, fans, and studio executives that put it to celluloid. The book came out and just two years later we were given a movie...

When The Last of Us debuted early in 2023, I began my rave review by saying, “Among the many compliments I can give HBO’s The Last of Us is that it eventually made me forget that it’s based on a video game.” Some gamers took this as both a backhanded compliment for the show and a blanket dismissal of the artistry of video games. But the point I argued then, and would argue now, is that the demands of an interactive game are fundamentally different from the demands of...

When you first see The Ghoul in “Fallout,” the most pronounced feature of Walton Goggins’ character is what’s missing. Just under the brim of his weathered cowboy hat and just above his wrinkled upper lip — you know, where his nose should be — there isn’t one. You can see the narrow nostril-dividing tissue, but there are no nostrils to divide. Instead, there’s just an A-shaped hole in his face. A cavity. An absence. So even though it’s obvious the handsome charmer from “Justified” is there, buried under a pound of latex, Prime Video viewers may not realize the physical demands of a role visibly defined by what’s been removed.
“I can’t see so well. I mean, I could see, but your periphery is gone,” Goggins said in an interview with IndieWire. “I’ve got these things over my teeth, so it’s hard to talk.

The Prime Video TV series adaptation of the popular Fallout video game franchise won’t begin streaming until April 12th, but season 2 of the show is already moving forward. While the first season was primarily filmed in New York (with some filming also taking place in Utah), Variety reports that the production will be moving to California for the next sequel. That’s not to take advantage of filming locations there, but rather to get a tax break. The California Film Commission just awarded $152 million in tax incentives to a dozen different TV shows, and Fallout is on the list. For filming the next season in California, the show will receive $25 million in California tax credits.
The budget for the show is quite large, as Variety notes that it has $153 million in qualified expenditures for the season.

Over the course of an acting career that began when he was a teenager fresh out of Georgia, Walton Goggins has played crooked cops (The Shield), racist gunslingers in Quentin Tarantino movies (Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight), villains in both traditional superhero projects (Ant-Man and the Wasp) and off-kilter ones (I’m A Virgo), and even an elderly televangelist con man called Baby Billy on HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones. Walton Goggins has been a part of some interesting films and TV projects over the years. While he might not be an A-list superstar, his range and versatility as an actor cannot be underestimated. His Emmy-nominated performance as Boyd Crowder in Justified was one of many roles where he shined as an actor.

The Western is a genre that's mostly gone by the wayside in recent decades, as portraits of straight-shooting American heroes and uncomplicated "bad guys" have become less digestible to the public. While popular neo-Westerns (like "Justified" or the works of Taylor Sheridan) and perspective-changing genre breakdowns have made a splash in recent yers, the genre has mostly died out. Of the relics that remain, few are as prolific and familiar as "Bonanza," a Western series that ran for an impressive 14 seasons on NBC in the '60s and '70s.
As a long-running TV series, "Bonanza" was able to chart the change — or stubborn lack thereof — within the genre and the country, frankly addressing topics like racism and bigotry while also delivering regular laughs and a dash of melodrama to loyal viewers. The series starred Lorne Green as widower Ben Cartwright and Dan Blocker, Pernell Roberts, and Michael Landon as Ben's three sons.

Yellowstone Is One Of The Most Popular Shows On Television
No matter how much time passes, or how far we get into modern technology as a society, the love for the Old West still remains. There may not be gunslingers like Wyatt Earp or Wild Bill these days, however, the cowboy/rancher lifestyle is still a collective fascination.
There’s a reason why movies like Tombstone or shows like Deadwood are still popular today. In later years, programs like Justified and now, Yellowstone, continue to capitalize on the popularity of bygone times. Yellowstone, in particular, has seen tremendous success in just a few short seasons on the air.

Justin Timberlake’s promotional tour in support of new album Everything I Thought It Was, out today, included a Tiny Desk Concert, where the singer nearly set a record for most musicians crammed into one of the NPR sessions.
Timberlake and his band of 14 musicians and backup vocalists crammed into the cubicle-sized space to perform seven tracks. “I forget how many of us there are. Y’all really lived up to the name ‘Tiny Desk,'” Timberlake quipped mid-set. “Yesterday, trying to get all of us in here was like a game of Tetris,...

Exclusive: Karolina Wydra (Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.) has landed a lead role opposite Rhea Seehorn in the upcoming Apple TV+ series from Breaking Bad creator and Better Call Saul co-creator Vince Gilligan, Deadline has learned. The untitled project, described as a blended, grounded genre drama, has a two-season straight-to-series order.
Per usual, Gilligan is keeping all information about the show under lock and key, so Apple TV+ and producing studio Sony Pictures Television declined comment.
Believed to be a departure from the world of drugs and crime he explored in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, the new series has been jokingly nicknamed “Breaking Good.”
“After 15 years, I figured it was time to take a break from writing antiheroes… and who’s more heroic than the brilliant Rhea Seehorn?” Gilligan said at the time of the series’ announcement.

Today, Bleecker Street debuted a trailer for the studio’s comedic family drama, Ezra, a touching story about fathers and sons going above and beyond the call of duty to find balance in a world designed to judge and persecute.
Ezra follows Max Bernal (Bobby Cannavale), a stand-up comedian living with his father (Robert De Niro) while struggling to co-parent his autistic son Ezra (introducing William Fitzgerald) with his ex-wife (Rose Byrne). When forced to confront difficult decisions about their son’s future, Max and Ezra embark on a cross-country road trip that has a...
