That's the way!

Warning: Spoilers
The way to get House back to Dxing and working in hospital again -- and staying clean and sober -- was the wacko smart patient with the internet lottery! Everyone's thinking -- from the title -- as well as Cuddy & Wilson's part -- that the Epic Failure is him taking vicodin again. Rather it was the internet Dx lotto that took Greg's attention away from the leg pain enough to reduce it (yes, that's how it works) AND served to bring him back to Palisades. Brilliant.

I liked the Foreman- Hadley interactions, very real and understandable. I didn't quite get why Foreman all of a sudden was losing his mojo. Heck, House and teams made SO many mistakes on Dx patients' ills over 5 seasons, for goodness sake, one or two here should not have thrown him so much. Course, goes along w/ the internet moment and their final scene which was well-played, well-written.

Good episode, worth the watch after Broken.

Fore!

Warning: Spoilers
House returns to Princeton, quits his job and takes up cooking. Foreman takes over the department. A know-it-all patient with tingly hands and cardiac issues keeps Foreman, 13 and Taub hopping. Foreman and 13 clash, as 13 has a hard time accepting Foreman as her new boss. House meanwhile cooks up a storm, impressing Wilson, no mean cook himself. The episode is focused on Foreman rather than House, so Foreman haters, beware. While the show turned into a soap opera some time back, at least the patient this time around is interesting enough to distract from the soap opera trappings. He is a video game developer who reads way too many medical web sites and thinks he knows what treatments he should or should not undergo. And he sounds eerily like Jeremy Sisto of LAW AND ORDER.

What ???
iampratikk1 October 2009
Is it just me or this episode was too much of Eric Foreman. I watch House to see Dr. Greg House not Eric Foreman!! Foreman struggles to solve the case and House struggles to keep himself busy. With so much little of House being shown in the episode it gets kind of boring in the middle. But if you are a Omar Epps's fan, you will enjoy it. But I was thinking, "am I watching Dr.House or Dr.Foreman!??" But, this is House, you never know what is going to happen. Except too much of Foreman, the episode is actually good and have some unexpected turn of events. House is changed, he is actually bonding with other people.

All in all, good episode.

That's More Like It!

I really didn't like "Broken," but this was much better. One thing I appreciated about this episode is that, with House temporarily gone, the rest of the team picks up the slack, and all are pretty adept at slinging snark, each in her or his own way. Contrary to what another commenter wrote, I don't think it was 13's difficulty with Foreman's new role that caused problems; he was obviously uncomfortable wielding the scepter, and did not know when to set it down.

There's still not much talk about what House is doing for his recovery besides avoiding Vicodin (oh, yeah, and other things); did we learn nothing from the Nancy Reagan-Just Say No Thank You- Drug is a drug is a drug late 1980s? I am not interested in the show shilling for the rehab du jour, but a little bit of realism can't hurt, can it?

Foreman is so frustrating

I've never liked Foreman and this episode (and a few others from season 5 especially) really reiterated that. Foreman is selfish and I can't understand why 13 stays with him. I would have dumped him on the spot after what he did.
