A capital show!

One of the old news talk shows from CNN in which you had a wide variety of political opinions from a variety of talking heads. The credits here don't list Mona Sharon, but she was on during the show's early years and was always great at precisely making her point. Of course you could always count on Robert Novak to be conservative and to come across like the grouchy uncle that is tolerated at Thanksgiving. And Mark Shields was usually left of center.

But from there it got unpredictable. Sometimes shouting matches would erupt. And one time, and probably the reason I remember this show, the panel got omniscient. That would be at the end of 1995 with their predictions for 1996. The two stand-out predictions - that Michael Jackson would have a baby and that Bill Clinton would be embroiled in a fund raising scandal that involved a Chinese restaurant. I didn't see that show, but saw the end of year 1996 show in which they looked back on the year AND their predictions the previous year. Very eerie.

This show was of better quality than most news talk shows that are on the networks and cable channels today, basically because today's news shows have the format of "tell me what I want to hear" due to increased commercialism in news. If you ever find an episode of this on youtube, I advise you watch it for a look back.
