The coming-of-age series follows sixteen-year-old Harriet Manners, who has spent her life trying to be invisible, to blend in seamlessly, but there’s no denying, she’s a geek. Her whole world changes after she catches the eye of a modelling agent while on a school trip to London Fashion Week. Tightly wound agents, reclusive designers, impossibly high heels, and a handsome young supermodel with a great smile — socially awkward Harriet has no idea what she’s in for.

A raucous comedy from playwright Camilla Whitehill, “Big Mood” teams “Bridgerton” and “Derry Girls” alum Nicola Coughlan with ‘It’s a Sin’ star Lydia West to dive headlong into mental illness and friendship. Fremantle, heading global distribution, will showcase the project in Cannes as part of its Mipcom slate. The market kicks off Oct.16.
A divinely sardonic and captivating laugh riot, the upcoming Channel 4 series presents an earnest portrait of mania and biologically-induced despair in a world where mental health has been commodified and sanitized for ease of consumption. Whitehill manages a highly nuanced depiction of Coughlan’s Maggie, whose bipolar pendulum swings erratically, as she tries desperately to regain control of her fleeting agency while clinging tightly to longtime friend Eddie, played by West.
“We’ve done a lot of patting ourselves on the back as a society, saying, ‘We’re really facing mental health,’ but we’re not.

With one episode left, Flowers in the Attic: The Origin is about to make the final steps that led to the events from the well-known blockbuster Flowers in the Attic.
It's been an absolutely crazy ride so far, but you haven't seen anything yet.
Jemima Rooper was kind enough to give her thoughts on playing Olivia Winfield Foxworth and viewing tips to get the most out of your finale-viewing experience.
What's your favorite thing about bringing Olivia to life?
My favorite thing is the variety! Playing a character at different stages of her life, building the back story that leads to such an undoing is just meaty and fabulous and the biggest gift for an actor.
I have to know how many times you wanted to flip the script so that Oliva could get the better of Malcolm!
That never even occurred to me! I’m very compliant and enjoyed...

Hannah Dodd plays Corrine Foxworth in Lifetime's Flowers in the Attic: The Origin.
She's right in the middle of one of the most complicated storylines in history and takes viewers right up to the moment the Mother of the Century allows her children to be locked in an attic.
We spoke with Hannah about living in the strange Foxworth family, and her answers don't disappoint!
What have you liked the most about being a part of Flowers in the Attic: The Origin?
Working with the cast and creative team was an absolute joy. I’ve made friendships for life, and we just had the best four months making this project.
Other than that, it was a really challenging role for me!
It was really fun to spend so long with a character, taking her from 16 up to her 30s and what that means from an acting perspective.
She experiences so much trauma throughout that time.
She's right in the middle of one of the most complicated storylines in history and takes viewers right up to the moment the Mother of the Century allows her children to be locked in an attic.
We spoke with Hannah about living in the strange Foxworth family, and her answers don't disappoint!

Oh, if we could only warn unsuspecting heroine Olivia Winfield Foxworth (Jemima Rooper), her life would’ve probably ended up much better than we see it play out in Lifetime’s new limited series Flowers in the Attic: The Origin. The four-episode series gives us the backstory to all the twisted family drama that made V.C. Andrews’ 1979 novel Flowers in the Attic such a sensation and spawned more books and adaptations over the years. In The Origin, airing on four consecutive Saturdays starting July 9, we meet Olivia, who has never been married and seemingly content with enjoying life working alongside her loving father, Mr. Winfield (Harry Hamlin). However, the arrival of the dashing Malcolm Foxworth (Condor‘s Max Irons) changes everything once he enters Olivia’s life and sweeps her off her feet with dreams of a happy ever after with him at Foxworth Hall in Virginia. Amid a host of lawsuits by foreign productions looking to recoup money from Romania’s beleaguered cash rebate system, industry insiders say the situation has reached a crisis point, with one leading U.K. financier and executive producer warning that the government runs the risk of “obliterating foreign direct investment” into Romania if a resolution isn’t reached in the coming weeks.
Nearly a dozen lawsuits are currently active in the Romanian court system, which last month ordered the government to pay roughly 642,000 plus legal fees to the producers of “The World to Come” (pictured), writer-director Mona Fastvold’s romantic frontier drama starring Vanessa Kirby and Katherine Waterston, which filmed in Romania in 2019. The government has appealed the ruling.
The U.K. financier, who has two decades of experience in the country, says that an impasse now dragging into its third year has caused “immense reputational damage” to both the government and the industry.
