Sex & Nudity

  • At the end of the movie, the main character gave up his Playboy magazines to the neighbor. When the neighbor receives it, one magazine shows a woman, what look like a white body suit. No topless women.
  • After Nick urinates in the bushes, he hears something, he looks into his neighbors window and sees a husband and wife using adult sex toys. No nudity while this is going on.

Violence & Gore

  • A man tries to punch another man who grabs the man's arms and pins them behind him, and pushes his face onto a desk until two police officers come and pull the two men apart.
  • A man throws a beer at a cash register, and the cashier shouts at the man and kicks him out of the store.

Profanity

  • Despite being R-rated, this film has infrequent and relatively mild language. 6 uses of fuck (none in a sexual context), one use of the middle finger on a blurry projection screen, and a few uses of shit, ass, damn, and crap each.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The whole movie revolves around alcoholism, and shows alcohol withdrawals, drinking, and purchasing alcohol.
  • A woman gives a man some Valium pills and tells him they will calm him down. Throughout the movie we see a man drinking cans of beer and from a flask.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • As this is a film about an alcoholic, there are many intense scenes related to the topic. A few will be hard to watch for some viewers.
