Sex & Nudity

- Some mild infatuation with Zoey from Ellis during "The Passing" (DLC only). No explicit dialogue or content.
- The witch is only in bra and panties, but due to her pale skin matching with the bra, and the fact that most people avoid her as she kills you in one hit, it's very hard to be offended. It is in a non-sexual context.
- Some of the cleavage of the female boomer can be seen, just a bit.
Violence & Gore

- In the uncut version, there is a lot of gore and blood, from dismemberment to chunks of flesh flying of the zombies bodies.
- Shooting a common zombie in the crotch region with a powerful but accurate weapon can cause a rare death animation where the zombie's digestive intestines drop out from the large wound.
- When you attack a zombie with a melee weapon your screen becomes covered in blood.
- This is the goriest game that made by Valve so far.
- Throwing a pipe bomb attracts all the zombies in the area and when it explodes you can see limbs flying like arms and legs
- There're lots of gun in the game witch you use to kill zombies.
- When you shoot a zombie with your gun there are puffs of blood.
Profanity

- sometimes when you start the campaign "The parish" rochelle will drop a dialogue saying "im not gonna show my boobs"
- Some swearing stand-ins like, "What the eff?!"
- Multiple cut-offs of "What the--"
- Name-calling like "hoodie bastard," "ass-clown," "leaping-on-your-back bitches," "dumbsh*t," "asshole," "bitch," etc.
- Mild profanity like ass, bitch, hell, shit, damn and crap is used frequently as exclamations and during conversations between the Survivors ( etc.). As with other Valve titles "Fuck" deliberately isn't used, although it is almost mouthed by Ellis and Coach.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- Bottles of pain pills give players a temporary health boost.
- Adrenaline injections can be used to temporarily increase a player's speed and some of their health.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- While it's very graphically violent, the tone of the game is rather light and fun and there's no lingering on suffering.
- Not very scary compared to other horror games but some levels can be claustrophobic and dark.
- While the tone isn't yo dark, the game is extremely gory, i would say it is one of the most gory games ever made, also the zombies can scary or make you jump if they catch you at the the right time.
- Hordes of zombies as well as swarms surrounding one player are both meant to intimidate and frighten the player.
