From a veterans perspective, perfect middle finger for the way the current administration left Afghanistan!
wrushrd17 March 2024
I really enjoyed this episode, except for the unnecessary language (see my previous comments on the Paramount+ takeover and how I can't watch it with my kids anymore)- MAINLY because it was a combination of reunion, redemption, possibilities and, well, a BIG MIDDLE FINGER to the Biden administration, and the way they completely botched the Afghanistan withdrawal. (I am speaking from a veteran's point of view.) Of particular interest was when Clay mentioned that they were fighting against our own equipment. (Referring to all the gear, weapons, ammunition, equipment, and vehicles, etc.) THESE EXACT THINGS were what I was thinking (and screaming at the TV, at the time) as I watched the inexcusable withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021.

Truth

I glad the spotlighted the awful way we left Afghanistan!

And we LEFT American citizens and Afghans that help us! My dad's a retired Marine(3 tours) and he gets so mad and disheartened about this!💔 It's not realistic but it's a show after all... I agree the other poster about that underwear and "f" word...lol.

What happened?
hereisone6 January 2022
Something felt off for me since this season started, and only watching this episode I realized what - the budget feels like it was cut 90% - there's no action scenes like before, everything is shot in tiny claustrophobic locations that feel like someone's back yard, we are being told things instead of being shown them, like before.

In fact, the only episode that feels real and organic is the 9/11 one, everything else is a dull soap opera.

I loved this show for the mix between private lives and struggles, and action.

There is no action in this new season, only whining.

A hit and a miss..
Whitneywest1027 December 2021
Given, I am over the Mandy of it all. I didn't want to go back down that road. But I see other reviewers unhappy with the spotlight being on recent events with how we left Afghanistan and I can understand because I was done with other shows shoving Covid storylines down viewers throats.. but! I'm completely onboard with Hollywood actually paying attention to something that doesn't feel like an agenda for the left for once. Things do feel a little choppy with the storyline right now but I'm hoping that's an effect from the last of Covid tremors stalling things and this show moving from cable to streaming and it will work itself out if it hasn't course corrected already in the back half of this season. I do think they need to come up with something fresh while also getting back to their roots. I'm worried that isn't a possibility without a cast shake up though. As much as I adore David Boreanaz, the character Jason Hayes needs a revamp and feel free to drop Mandy back off in any other country. Fingers crossed her reappearance is a crucible to set up for a shift with Hayes as a character.

Getting difficult to watch
AtlantaToughguy23 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I was excited to watch this season. BUT, it seems like the first two episodes I watched are choppy, jump from scene to scene without so much as showing how they got there. SPOILER ALERT! For instance, how did these go from being in the middle of a Taliban camp, in a fierce firefight, to all of a sudden being back on the C130 flying home? Makes NO sense to show how they got out of that OBVIOUSLY unsurviveable scenerio! And the acting has gotten whiney, and it seems like all of the characters have "changed". I'm going to give the next episode a try, and if it's no better, then I'm moving on to something better. Disappointed in this season so far. I hope I'm wrong!

What has happened?!
ianpirie-8402616 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I watch this in UK so I may or may not be up to speed with all of the network changes. I've loved Seal Team since it started. There's a saying of if it's not broke, don't fix it... This episode had some good parts, but the rest. Oh dear. Jason's tidy whitey pants in a cringy embarrassing half love scene. No. Sonny's mumbling. What?! I had to out subtitles on ! And now Jason has develop tourettes. It doesn't sound right. Like a child who's learned a new swear word. Is he the only one allowed to say the f word ?!

To be fair. It was a dismal episode. I hope it improves.

This is where we draw the line

Me and my brother have been fans since the beinning. Yes things started going downhill ever since season 3 but it's never been this unbearable. We don't care about cheap drama we want SEALs in action. What's even going on there behind the scenes? Why is David Boreanaz trying to jam a finger in Jessica's mouth in a wierd unnecessary intimate scene and why should I care to watch it? We're done.

Total Unrealistic
sullir52 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A nurse walking around with Narcan in her purse; is she a junky. There's no one walking around with Narcan for personal use. But at same time, hey that's what being a junky gets you; living in a cardboard box in an alley.

The jump from a full on battle with a humvee explosion to right on to the plane. No follow-up or repercussions from going off mission to save non-Americans.

Was things left behind?
moov_e_c_er24 December 2021
Was hummers and weapons left behind? Previous episode said everything was being packed up like the tents but leave a "tank" behind? Nothing shows they were rushed out or a big fight to push them out and take over, yet they knew if they left anything the Taliban would push into the camp and take over.

As for the actual episode the mission to rescue and then a second rescue to simply go against command? Good mission but more like a video game that's open world or side missions. Getting Jason and Mandy together again just shows under Paramount+ they are allowed more swearing and sex scenes. I had no issue with it and it was watchable.
