- Walter Mashburn: Oh, I know you're a charlatan as I said. You lost your wife and kid to a serial killer, your fault you think. And now you're on this hopeless quest for redemption. Battling evil and injustice, right?
- Patrick Jane: Close enough.
- Walter Mashburn: You play mind games with people. You size up their weaknesses and then you give them the rope to hang themselves.
- Patrick Jane: Oh, you make it sound so cool.
- Walter Mashburn: So it's over?
- Patrick Jane: Yeah. It's over.
- Walter Mashburn: That's too bad. It was fun.
- Patrick Jane: Yeah. How you gonna top that thrill?
- Walter Mashburn: Maybe next time, I'll be the killer.
- Kimball Cho: I've got the client list here right here. It's evidence. What did you do that for?
- Patrick Jane: I have eliminated this man from any suspicion. Too honest to profit from a killing, too honest to kill, right?
- Salesman: Right.
- [Cho leaves to break up all the fighting sales people. Jane stays behind with the last Salesman]
- Patrick Jane: Unless, of course you're very cunning. And you're working a double bluff... No. I didn't think so.
- Patrick Jane: [after Mashburn's car goes over the edge] Well, uh, at least no one got hurt... It's a terrible color any way... Uh, I'll get you a new one... Sorry.
- Patrick Jane: Hey. Need a ride?
- Teresa Lisbon: Where did you get that?
- Patrick Jane: Oh, this old thing? Walter Mashburn.
- Teresa Lisbon: Even though you wrecked his car just to get a clean read on Elias?
- Patrick Jane: Is that what I did?
- Teresa Lisbon: Yeah, you did. Mashburn's not mad?
- Patrick Jane: No. We gave him a new experience. He helped us catch the killer, this is his way of saying thank you. Get in.
- Teresa Lisbon: We're not allowed to accept gifts from people.
- Patrick Jane: It's not a gift, it's a lend. Now, I know this fantastic restaurant in Napa; we can be there in about seven and a half minutes. It'll blow your mind.
- Teresa Lisbon: That's expensive, huh?
- Kimball Cho: $300,000 retail. Probably get a discount now though.
- Teresa Lisbon: We get it. You're an energetic man. You like danger. So why bring us here?
- Walter Mashburn: I have no love for danger. Nothing's dangerous if you think ahead. If you plan it right, you can get away with... well I was gonna say you can get away with murder, but you know what I mean.
- Wayne Rigsby: I-I-I meant stupid if we got married today.
- Grace Van Pelt: But what about tomorrow? I mean long term, where are we going?
- Wayne Rigsby: Uh, do we have to discuss this right now?
- Grace Van Pelt: Yeah! We probably should have done it before we announced our relationship and I endangered my job!
- Wayne Rigsby: My job's on the line too!
- Grace Van Pelt: That's not what you said before!
- Teresa Lisbon: [Receiving a call on her cell phone] Hey Cho... Oh no... Oh great. No. No, you can handle this one. Just be clear that the CBI is not liable. He is just a consultant.
- Teresa Lisbon: You didn't tell me.
- Wayne Rigsby: Excuse me?
- Teresa Lisbon: That you're together. You didn't say it, I didn't hear you. There are no rules being broken that I'm aware of. No holding hands, no soulful looks, and absolutely no kissing in the office.
- Grace Van Pelt: No problem.
- Wayne Rigsby: Fine.
- Teresa Lisbon: [Jeff's holding a sword] Jeff, put that thing down, *now*.
- Jeff Sparhawk: Make me.
- [Jeff grunts]
- Jeff Sparhawk: Go ahead make me! MAKE ME!
- Teresa Lisbon: Nobody's gonna shoot you, Jeff. No matter how badly you want them to.
- Jeff Sparhawk: You think I killed her?
- Teresa Lisbon: It helps that you said so during the standoff.
- Jeff Sparhawk: Right. What's weird. I think if I had killed her, I'd feel better or at least I'd feel in control.
