Exclusive: Boiling Point writer Roanne Bardsley is penning a TV adaptation of Claire McGowan thriller What You Did for the BBC.
The public broadcaster is developing the project, which hasn’t yet been greenlit, with a view to airing as a limited series, we understand. Argonon-backed Worzel Gummidge and Hard Cell indie Leopard Pictures is producing.
From prolific Northern Irish thriller writer McGowan, the book charts the reunion of six university friends together again after 20 years apart. Host Ali finally has the life she always wanted, a career she can be proud of and a wonderful family with her college boyfriend, now husband. But that night her best friend makes an accusation so shocking that nothing will ever be the same again, as she staggers in from the garden, bleeding and traumatized, she claims that she has been assaulted – by Ali’s husband, Mike.
The development is third time lucky for McGowan.

Exclusive: British author Lucy Clarke, who has had two novels adapted for TV by Paramount+, has seen rights to her latest thriller The Hike snapped up by Urban Myth Films.
The Hike will be made into a TV series by the Studiocanal-backed Lazarus Project producer, penned by Boiling Point’s Roanne Bardsley. No network is attached as of yet.
The Hike follows friends Maggie, Helena, Liz and Joni as they leave behind their everyday lives to hike out into the beautiful Norwegian wild. But there’s a darker side to the wilderness – and waiting on the trail is someone who’d do anything to stop the group walking away alive.
The move follows a busy couple of years for Clarke, who has seen her novels No Escape and The Castaways adapted for TV by Paramount+, although neither were produced by Urban Myth. The former starred Abigail Lawrie and Rhianne...

Noah Reid readily admits to being nervous when he joined the cast of “Schitt’s Creek” midway through season three. He was signed to play Patrick Brewer, the love interest for show creator Dan Levy‘s character David Rose. But he hadn’t seen the first two seasons, which Levy ribbed him about. But as the actor explains, “Patrick doesn’t know anybody so it is probably best if I come in flying blind and experience all of this for the first time. That was a risky move.”
SEEDan Levy Interview: ‘Schitt’s Creek’
In our exclusive video interview (watch above), the classically-trained actor vividly recalls his first scenes with Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara. The comedy greats play David’s parents, the hapless Johnny and the self-absorbed Moira. “I was quite nervous to be stepping into that company being so familiar with their work. *here be spoilers. Director: Rupert Bryan. Writers: Rupert Bryan and Ben Loyd-Holmes. Cast: Tamer Hassan, Barbara Nedeljakova, Ben Loyd-Holmes, Zara Phythian, Daniel Caren, Dominic Le Moignan, Jemma Bolt, Lisa-Marie Long, and Shauna Macdonald. There have been many films developed in the rape revenge genre. From I Spit on Your Grave (1978) to Irreversible, there are issues of violence and power shown in this style of film. Rupert Bryan's The Hike is much less violent than the films mentioned here. The villains seem more content with fondling a group of female hikers rather than acting out their dark desires. Thus, The Hike begins as a tepid rape revenge thriller that transitions into a standard horror feature with the ending and music two of only a few quality film elements. Five girls, Torri (Barbara Nedeljakova), Kate (Zara Phythian), Charlie (Jemma Bolt), Ellie (Lisa-Marie Long) and Leanne (Stephanie Siadatan), head out on a camping trip to escape their.

Another plus is that it’s the only time you’ll be allowed to wear Lycra in public without being frowned upon!

Independent UK film company FearDrivenFilms are getting ready for exploitation horror comedy in their latest feature project the intriguingly entitled 'Six Hot Chicks in a Warehouse'. Yes it's going to be a fun-fest of blood, lewd behaviour and dark, dark comedy! Ben Loyd-Holmes ('Band of Brothers', 'The Hike') and Zara Phythian - below ('The Hike') are already cast and early word is that there is potentially a handful more of sizzling hotties being lined up as the hot chicks! The flick penned, by Simon P. Edwards ('Smiley' - which received 2 nominations at the 2010 British Horror Film Festival), is currently in pre- production and aims to begin shooting this Autumn....

Brit director Jonathan Glendening has been named the helmer for new UK horror 'Strippers vs Werewolves'. It's been a while since we reported anything on this project, when director Pat Higgins had just provided producer Jonathon Sothcott with the script, but now everything seems to be moving forward in a positive way. Glendering is an interesting choice since just recently seeing the release of his own werewolf feature '13Hrs' starring ex-'Hollyoaks' star Gemma Atkinson. However, now only have they locked in a director but have also cast 'Hostel' euro hottie Barbara Nedeljakova ('The Hike', 'Children of the Corn: The Dweller'). Babs will join the previously cast ex-soap star Adele Silva (below). This is certainly starting to gain my interest in a big way! Fingers crossed for some full-on bloody horror action and gratuitous ...

Rupert Bryan showed off footage from his upcoming horror film, The Hike, at a "winter memorabilia" show in the UK. I guess that is the British equivalent of Comic-Con. "In one way, it's a thriller that is very much about the chase and the kill, but on another level it is a story of realism," said Bryan. "The film is set in a situation we could all find ourselves in, with people we all might know." More after the jump. The film follows a female hiking expedition whose vacation takes a turn for the worse when they encounter a group of creepy survivalists, and one of the girls goes missing. The Hike stars Tamer Hassan (Wrong Turn 3), Barbara Nedeljakova (Hostel), and Ben Lloyd...

Director Rupert Bryan is showing off his latest thriller The Hike to those attending a memorabilia show in England; it's the first we've heard of the film, so with a big of light digging, we found a synopsis and four photos... Kate (Zara Phythian) is a soldier back from a tour in Afghanistan on compassionate leave after seeing her soldier boyfriend die in combat. Back amongst her best friends, they take the chance to get away and go on a camping trip to a picturesque and remote area of the British countryside. As the girls leave for their expedition, Kate's friend, Torri (Barbara Nedeljacova) breaks up with her aggressive boyfriend Dean (Tamer Hassan), leaving Kate to defend her from his violence. Leaving all that behind, the girls make their way into the woods in search of the...
