Fantastic series - very well done, an absolute must watch for motocross fans

I came across this series a few weeks ago and decided to devote some DVR time to it. It FAR exceeded my expectations.

The series does a fantastic job of showing the "behind the scenes" action in the motocross world, as well as on the track. The series sums up the 2009 outdoor motocross season. Sure, we are almost upon the next outdoor season, but I was surprised how much fun it was to revisit 2009.

The family portraits were the best. You will see profiles of all the top riders and their families; even my wife got into the show, and she is NOT a motocross fan.

I would go as far to say that in some ways I actually enjoyed the series MORE than just watching the races, because knowing the inside story and personalities of the riders makes the races so much more meaningful. Too bad they can't have a show like this air immediately after each televised event.

This is a serious documentary series. This is the exact opposite of "Bubba's World", for example. It doesn't have lots of riders clowning around, and it isn't trying to compete with Travis Pastrana's "Nitro Circus" (which I also recommend for pure entertainment value, but NOT for good documentary value). The music is dramatic and well orchestrated, and the narration can't help but make me feel like I'm watching one of those "NFL films" documentaries. There is great photography, nice slow-mo shots, and lots you just don't see on TV.

In summary, if you follow motocross or supercross at all, please give this documentary a try - you'll probably find yourself hooked, AND it will add to your enjoyment of watching future races.
