As I stated in my review of the series at large, the three characters that make "Big Time Rush" interesting to me are the female supporting cast, specifically Ciara Bravo, Erin Sanders, and Katelyn Tarver. This episode is the first appearance of the latter of these girls.

The four boys are lounging by the Palm Woods Hotel pool, trying and failing to pick up girls, when one of them describes the kind of girl they'd like to meet. As you can expect from television, right then and there, a girl who fits their description to a tee is getting ready to move into the hotel. And they all start throwing themselves at her right away. Jo Taylor isn't just their dream girl, she's ours! Her very existence fills my head with speculation that the casting department may have defied normal procedure when they selected Miss Tarver for the role.

Most of the episode revolves around the four hockey-heads trying to win the affections of the new arrival and would-be actress, with very little success, often but not always due to their own failings. One of those failures is due to a certain brunette teen method actress at the hotel. It should be pretty obvious I'm talking about Camille keeping Logan from getting her.

Meanwhile, Kendall's little sister Katie has to do a school report on an adult she apparently admires, and settles for a report on Gustavo Rocque, who is driving himself crazy trying to come up with a slow love ballad for the boys to sing. The trouble is, they don't want to sing a slow love song. They want a standard upbeat pop hit, and before they record that song, they intend to use it and other tactics to woo this gorgeous North Carolina blonde, no matter what it takes. Katie's snarkiness and the boys' outlandish efforts to make Jo their girlfriend are semi-typical sitcom clichés, but still worth seeing for a chuckle.
