- Jack tries to find out why he's out the loop on a potential sale of NBC and why Don Geiss can't be found. Meanwhile, Liz looks for her "future husband," whom she met during a root canal, and Tracy launches his plan to win a Tony Award.
- Jack's dreams come crashing down when Avery informs him that a cable company is rumored to buy out NBC. Meanwhile Liz tracks down the man of her dreams whom she met in her dentist's waiting room, while Jenna reluctantly assists Tracy in pursuing a Tony Award.—NBC Publicity
- Open with Liz waking up after her surgery. She walks into the living room to find the "DVD ERROR" message on the TV and a waffle in the player. She calls Jack, who stayed with her after she got home. Apparently she was "pretty far gone."
Jack hangs up and discusses the potential sale of NBC to a cable company with Avery (Elizabeth Banks). Her sources say its' going to happen; Jack doesn't believe the rumors. Don Geiss assured Jack the sale wasn't going to happen.
Looking to call Frank, Liz finds "Future Husband" listed in her cell phone. She must have met someone at the dentist's office while under anesthesia. She's scared to call the unknown person, but Kenneth assures her "everything always works out for the best" and throws his wallet out the window.
While recording a TGS promo, Tracy tells Jenna and Liz that he's performing a one-man show on Broadway that night. The goal is to fulfill the 'T' award from his EGOT necklace. Tracy does not have anything planned for the show.
Jack asks Jonathan why the phones aren't ringing. Avery calls to ask what's happening with the buyout. She knows the sale is that day and the board is having a secret meeting. They both realize Jack is out of the loop because he opposes the sale. Jack has Jonathan find out where everybody is.
At a follow-up with her dentist, Liz asks the doctor who she might have been speaking with in the lobby. He tells her only that the man had an English accent and they were laughing.
Jenna is furious that Tracy got rave reviews for his show. She discusses this with Kenneth, who slept at the office because his key was the wallet. Tracy comes in and learns that he must perform the show at least seven more times to qualify for the Tonys. He doesn't know how he'll be able to do the exact same show again.
Jonathan downloads Done Geiss' schedule to his phone.
Missing a prescription that was in the wallet, Kenneth is having "donkey spells." Liz wants to know what her mystery man looks like. She calls the man, Wesley, and pretends to be the dentist's receptionist needing him to come in for a check-up.
Jack goes to Avery's office and tells her Giess is meeting at Jack Welch's house in Connecticut. She thinks Giess is out of the loop as well and Jack should distance himself from his mentor. He's spent 30 years trying to be Don Giess but now he's becoming a liability.
Kenneth convinces Jenna to help Tracy with the acting on his show.
In the office Liz finds Wesley (Michael Sheen) is a nice-looking man who had her on his phone as "Future Wife." They go out for coffee and it goes terribly. Each is awkward and ends up offending the nother.
Jack Welch tells Jack that Don Geiss died three weeks ago and they've kept him on ice until the deal went through. Welch tells him the deal is going to happen.
Liz tells Kenneth about the disastrous meeting with Wesley. He thinks it "has to work out," but Liz assures him sometimes things just don't work out.
A devastated Jack is waiting for Liz in her office. He's devastated he'll never be the CEO he wanted to be and thinks he's being erased from phones all over the world.
Jenna tries to teach Tracy about acting. Tracy isn't interested in her process. She is frustrated and tells him to be himself.
Wesley shows up at the office, having found Kenneth's wallet. "I guess we have to give it another shot," Liz says. They agree to have dinner.
As Avery reads the newscast about the merger, she lies and says her sources are saying Jack is the only executive capable of leading the new company. Jack smiles as his phone begins to ring.
