Now on VOD via Tribeca Film, Conception is a clever romantic comedy that proves it takes more than sex to make a baby. Plugging into a very zeitgeisty topic of our times, director Josh Stolberg intertwines the stories of nine diverse couples who, wittingly or unwittingly, conceive a baby on the same night. The terrific ensemble cast includes Julie Bowen and Sarah Hyland (both from Modern Family), Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights), David Arquette (Never Been Kissed), and Jason Mantzoukas (The League). We recently talked with Stolberg to talk about his impressive cast, among other topics. His interview, like his movie, is refreshingly candid and full of surprises. The movie was made in ten days. 10 days! But we're getting ahead of ourselves. Tribeca: Tell us a little about Conception. How do you describe the movie in your own words? Josh Stolberg: Conception is a sexy but candid romantic comedy...

"Modern Family's" charmingly ditzy Haley Dunphy (Sarah Hyland) hasn't exactly been lucky in love -- her last boyfriend, Dylan, decided to stay in Wyoming after she invited him on a family vacation to a dude ranch.
Now, things may be looking up for Haley. Sources reveal exclusively to Zap2it that Hyland's real-life boyfriend, Matt Prokop, has just been cast as Haley's latest love interest.
Prokop and Hyland met at the casting call for Disney's "High School Musical 3." He won the role of Jimmie Zara, but Hyland didn't get the gig -- she did, however, get the guy.
Since then, Prokop and Hyland have co-starred in two projects. In "Conception," they played a couple who conceived a baby the night they lost their virginity. Most recently they appeared in Disney's "Geek Charming," a "Can't Buy Me Love" type rom-com in which she played the popular high school girl who...

Fans of Modern Family and American Horror Story (and Friday Night Lights) may want to make plans to see Conception when it becomes available via On Demand (VOD, iTunes, Amazon Watch Instantly, and Vudu) on February 24. It's touted as a "a clever, romantic comedy that proves it takes more than sex to make a baby" and follows follows "nine very different couples on the night they conceive, showing that sex can sometimes be more neurotic than erotic." The ensemble cast includes Emmy-winner Julie Bowen (Modern Family), Sarah Hyland (Modern Family) and Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights), and one of the couples in the film just happens to be a lesbian couple (though, no, they aren't played by Bowen and Britton).
In this exclusive clip from the upcoming film, partners Tay (Pamela Adlon, Louie) and Nikki (Moon Bloodgood, Terminator Salvation) discuss who will birth their baby through artificial insemination and who will be the supportive partner.

From inexperienced teens to couples battling fertility issues, Josh Stolberg's "Conception" follows nine couples as they embark on the road to parenthood.
From the trailer, it seems the ensemble cast -- full of TV stars including "Friday Night Lights" and "American Horror Story's" Connie Britton, "Modern Family's" Julie Bowen and Sarah Hyland, and "The League's" Jason Mantzoukas -- is full of awkward sex and little kids making remarks about knowing where babies come from.
An ensemble cast worked with Richard Curtis' "Love Actually" and flopped with Garry Marshall's "Valentine's Day" and "New Year's Eve," but regardless of the character development and overall quality of the film, the "Conception" cast will make it February's must-see for anyone looking for a star-studded flick.
"Conception" hits On Demand and iTunes on February 24th. For more, click over to CinemaBlend.

Want to talk about sex? If not, you probably don’t want to bother with the new trailer for Conception because getting busy between the sheets seems to be on everyone’s mind.
There must be something in the bottled water that everyone’s drinking in Hollywood because sex and babies are dangerously close to becoming a big screen trend. In addition to What to Expect When You’re Expecting, comedy writer Josh Stolberg is bringing in a lot of familiar faces for the story of nine couples that all end up in the same place – expecting the pitter-patter of little feet. From virgins that learn it only takes one time to the couple that turns to artificial insemination, all roads lead to pregnancy and parenthood… and one poor big screen TV pays the ultimate price at one point. I’m still in shock over that scene. Poor TV.

Comedy writer Josh Stolberg (Piranha, Good Luck Chuck) has corralled an impressive company of TV stars for his latest directorial effort, the ensemble rom-com Conception. The film focuses on nine sets of couples with nine different motivations, whose sexual misadventures land them all in the same place: pregnancy. Filling out the sprawling cast are some of TV's most winsome players, including: Friday Night Lights/American Horror Story's Connie Britton, The League's Jason Mantzoukas, Suburgatory's Alan Tudyk, Warehouse 13's Aaron Ashmore, Louie's Pamela Aldon and Modern Family's Sarah Hyland and Julie Bowen. Even David Arquette makes an appearance, playing a kindergarten teacher who is easily flustered by the birds-and-the-bees savvy of his young students. This sexually frank romantic-comedy seeks to explore the goofy.and sometimes greasy.routes to conception by zeroing in on the night each couple conceives, whether accidentally.as is the case with...

Before "Friday Night Lights" was a TV show, it was a movie (and before that, a book). Now, the executive producer Peter Berg (also the director of the movie) is considering making a movie out of the TV show. So, rather than a sequel to the original film (which is the movie that made everyone notice singer Tim McGraw as an actor), this movie would be an extension of the TV show like the Sex and the City movies. Universal (NBC's parent company which owns/runs "Fnl") says they don't currently have this project in development but that doesn't mean the idea isn't being kicked around upstairs.
What's interesting is that most of the "Friday Night Lights" cast have transitioned into movie stars:
* Minka Kelly ("Lyla Garrity") is now a major star with lead roles in The Roommate and Just Go With It.
* Aimee Teegarden ("Julie Taylor," pictured) was the...

Set amid the sprawling metropolis of L.A., “Conception” boasts an enviable cast, some of whom are today’s most popular TV stars: Connie Britton, Jonathan Silverman, Julie Bowen, Moon Bloodgood, Aaron Ashmore and David Arquette.
The film opens on Arquette stumbling in front of an elementary-school classroom a la “Kindergarten Cop,” unable to answer a group of kids questioning where babies come from. Its saving grace is the too-short sequence that follows of kids saying the darndest things (yes, like the Bill Cosby show). Let’s face it: Kids utilizing their expansive imaginations and limited real-world knowledge of human mechanics to comment on adult issues is always funny.

Director: Josh Stolberg Writer: Josh Stolberg Starring: David Arquette, Connie Britton, Jennifer Finnigan, Sarah Hyland, Jennifer Jostyn, Jason Mantzoukas, Matt Prokop, Jonathan Silverman, Alan Tudyk "The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things but their inward significance." Aristotle once said that and now Paul (David Arquette), an elementary school teacher, recites Aristotle's philosophy on art to his young class; but we sense that Paul is also providing the audience with writer-director Josh Stolberg's (Kids in America) cinematic philosophy as well. Conception is not about what we see on the outside, it is what is going on the inside of the characters (figuratively and literally). Title: Hobo with a Shotgun Directed by: Jason Eisener Starring: Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner, The Rite), Gregory Smith (Conception, The Patriot) and Robb Wells (The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day) While some highly-anticipated movies live up to their pre-release hype, others fail to include the aspects that fans hope to see. Jason Eisener, who has risen to fame as a short-film director and [...]...
