A rather amateur film style with questionable acting. From the dad dying from a single weak slap to, what it looks like to be a 10 year olds perspective on how drugs, alcohol and sexual abuse control relationships. Davids luscious locks were the only saving grace. Some of the shots were passable.
But the sound design was very amateur. As an audience member, I was confused when something was meant to be humorous vs when it was just bad. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't meant to funny at all. The mermaid was something out of a children's bedtime story programme which is maybe what was intended so i'll give them the be night of the doubt.
All in all, it was a nice aesthetic but the fact that the whole line of seating was shaking with audience members laughter throughout it all gives you a slight insight.
I recommend you watch it to really experience the fever dream that is this film.
