- Lively debates are occurring as the day to vote on repealing the VRA approaches. Senator Martha Kent is outspoken in favor of the repeal. As she finishes her speech, shots ring out. Clark is not there in time. She is wearing a bullet-proof vest but suffers a shallow wound on her shoulder. Clark begs her to stand down, but she refuses. Clark vows to find the shooter. Clark is pessimistic about the success to overturn it while Lois is actively doing everything she can. She is angry when a pro-hero article that she wrote for the Daily Planet is completely stripped of its stance. When she complains to Tess about the biased editing, Tess remarks that she never approved the version Lois now has. She goes up to her office to start an investigation into who did it only to find Lionel sitting at her desk. She knows it is a Lionel that followed Clark back from the other world. He wants to now be the father she always wanted. He also wants to know the whereabouts of his other son, Alexander. Clark goes to the shooting site and finds kryptonite shards all over the ground. He surmises that the slugs were kryptonite and intended for him. Lionel manages to track Alexander down, telling him he is glad to have found his son. At the Luthor mansion, Martha surprises Lionel and Alexander. Alexander knows he is sickening and will not last much longer as he is aging fast. Alexander is not taken in. He claims that Lionel abandoned him in both worlds. He hits Martha, pistol whips his father down and starts the mansion on fire. Clark saves both of them. Tess goes to the loft looking for the Phantom Zone crystal to get rid of Lionel. Alexander and Clark both show up. Tess is able to disarm Alexander with statements of love. To dispel Clark's doubt about the election, Chloe shows Clark some testimonials that Lois and she inserted into news outlets with some hacking help. The repeal passes. This means that Watchtower is now back in business. Tess plans to help Alexander pass with a cyanide syringe. She stabs him in the back during an embrace, but the needle just bends. He notices.—Garon Smith
