Later at the Planet, Clark examines the engraved bullet while Cat makes a call and tells someone she'll try to make the pickup later. Clark asks her what she's involved in, but Cat dismisses his concerns and starts complaining about vigilantes again. He shows her the bullet and offers to let her stay at the Talon in Smallville.
Oliver is at the Talon apartment, looking for clues to Chloe's location. He finds a small bottle with a liquid and pockets it as Cat comes in with groceries. Oliver quickly dons his Green Armor costume and disables her self-defense items, and then stops her when she tries to run. Cat figures that Green Arrow tried to kill her, but he insists that he isn't a criminal. She shows him photos she has of heroes torturing innocent people at the old brewery by the docks, unaware that they're actually of Oliver being tortured. He takes them and leaves.
Clark goes to Tess' office to examine Cat's personnel files, and confirms that she's actually Mary Louise Schroeder. At the Talon, Cat dons a bulletproof vest and is packing to leave when she hears someone walking up to the door. She grabs a knife but discovers that it's Clark. Cat claims that Green Arrow attacked her, and insists that the vigilantes don't want her exposing the truth. Clark notes that she's hiding some secrets of her own, and asks why she changed her name. Cat breaks down and explains that she has a son named Adam, who is living with his grandparents until the entire thing blows over. Deadshot continues to follow her, luring her into position in front of a mounted gun. As Deadshot activates the arming device, Clark arrives and knocks him out, and then runs at superspeed to block the bullet. He grabs it and puts it on Cat's sternum, and then shoves her to the ground so she believes that she was shot and the bulletproof vest saved her. As Cat goes, she insists she doesn't need a masked hero to save her when she has a hero like him. She insists that they need an all-American hero in red, white, and blue to stand out in the light to inspire others. As Cat leaves, Clark is unaware that the bullet he blocked has left nanites in his shoulder.
