I just finished watching the episode and I like the new Naomi/Max storyline. In almost all the movies, or on television, it's always the nerd who first falls in love with the "hot" chick and then, she accepts his love. But in this case, it's who Naomi fell for a nerd and he refused/ ignored her. The way she actually took it was pretty funny though, "how can you NOT be attracted to me, (you're) gay, no one rejects me, etc". I think it was pretty refreshing that for once a nerd was portrayed as confident snob, too, and not as a heel who falls for the first hot girl he lays his eyes on. I think it's more true-to-life. Also, I think, as she showed up at the theater dressed as a Na'avi and put up with all the taunting meant that maybe, for once, she was actually feeling real feelings for Max, not just, to prove her point or, lust. Also, MAX asked HER, to keep their relation under wraps because it was bad for his reputation? It is totally opposed to the way geeks are, usually, portrayed - most are mostly virgins, desperate for some action. But this guy is supremely confident of himself and of the fact that he does not want Naomi. I think Max can and will provide Naomi with the emotional support she needs. Like Navid was there for Aide in the S1. This is also evident when he helps her with Guru Sona and her scam artists. I also think that Max maybe a change from the usual 90210 crowd, like a more confident, geekier, male version of the earlier Silver. I just don't want their relationship to go the Aide/ Navid way.

The Raj/ Ivy plot line is getting weirder. Being an Indian myself, I thought the pot-smoking version of an Indian was a welcome change from the usual rebellious teen-from-conservative family portrayal of Indians on television. But now, it's established he is dying of Leukemia and smokes pot to reduce pain after chemotherapy. I mean, I agree that it would've been hypocritical of him to miss classes and smoke pot and tell Ivy not to, but cancer is taking it a bit too far. Also, if he is taking chemo, shouldn't he be losing his hair? I remember my uncle lost all of his hair, even eyebrows, after 6 months of chemo. This guy not only has great hair, but also stubble (morning beard).

It's a good thing that they cut-off Emily's visit short. Her "Single White Female" behavior was getting on my nerves. I hope the Annie/Liam plot doesn't have more twists. I like them as a couple. They look great together.

All-in-all, I can't wait for the serial to resume in April. I just love it.
