  Stefan Salvatore : I am in love with you.

  Katherine Pierce : There is just so much you don't know about me Stefan.

  Elena Gilbert : That would be my exit.

  Jenna Sommers : I'm here ten minutes and I'm back underneath the bleachers at the pep rally.

  Mason Lockwood : It's just like old times huh? Only I didn't swipe this bottle from my old man.

• Elena Gilbert : [Damon just appears]  What do you want?

  Damon Salvatore : So this is where you spend your time when you're not stabbing people in the back.

  Elena Gilbert : I tricked you into telling the truth. That's not stabbing you in the back. It's using your own tactics against you.

  Damon Salvatore : Where are you going?

  Elena Gilbert : I've made myself clear, Damon, I want nothing to do with you.

  Damon Salvatore : Okay. See you at Jenna's barbecue.

  Elena Gilbert : [turns around, surprised]  How do you know about Jenna's barbecue?

  Damon Salvatore : It was my idea. Jenna went to high school together with Mason Lockwood, so I figured a social gathering would be a good way to get to know the guy. So I told Rick to tell Jenna and...

  [interupted] 

  Elena Gilbert : Does Jenna know you're going to be there? 'Cause she's not exactly a fan of yours.

  Damon Salvatore : [to waitress with Damon's Peach Combo]  Perfect. Thank you.

  [to Elena] 

  Damon Salvatore : I'm hoping this Peach Combo will pave the way.

  [gets up from table] 

  Elena Gilbert : What are you up to?

  Damon Salvatore : I'm gonna put some silver into Mason Lockwood and prove that he's a werewolf. See you at the barbecue.

  [smirks] 

• Stefan Salvatore : [Walks into his house and spots Katherine reading his journal]  Shouldn't read someone's journal.

  Katherine Pierce : I know. I'm sorry but it was too tempting all of your inner thoughts and feelings laying there on your desk for me to read.

• Caroline Forbes : [as Elena puts down cell phone]  Was that Stefan?

  Elena Gilbert : He hasn't called me back. I'm trying to decide if I should be worried.

  Caroline Forbes : I'm sure he's fine.

  [munching potato chips] 

  Caroline Forbes : God, I cannot stop eating.

  [chuckles] 

  Caroline Forbes : Stefan says it's a great way to, uh, sublimate the cravings. You know, it's horrible, just fighting the urge for blood, every minute of every day.

  [scoffs] 

  Elena Gilbert : I know that Stefan really hates that part of himself.

  Caroline Forbes : Well, yeah. And he hates that you're a constant temptation.

  Elena Gilbert : He said that?

  Caroline Forbes : Mm-hmm. The desire to rip out your jugular every time he's with you? Trust me, it's there. And... it's why I had to break up with Matt.

  Alaric Saltzman : [coming out onto porch]  Hey, the food's ready. Come get it.

  Caroline Forbes : Finally. I'm starving.
