Ms. Vivica to the rescue again! This time she's a therapist trying to help a woman move past her pending divorce and start dating again! Trouble is she picks the wrong blind date! Better script than some of the "wrong" movie but Vivica always makes them entertaining! Recommended for one watch!

"Looks like you picked the wrong blind date". Ah, there's goes Vivica A. Fox again. She's Lifetime's side character muse and last scene heroine. She can't wait to say LMN's all-time favorite Mad Lib. Insert title of movie in blank.
So yeah, The Wrong Blind Date is my second Lifetime review of this year. "Wrong" Lifetime flicks, well they seem more assembly-lined than the automobiles at General Motors. Usually it's the man that turns out to be the creep (and he's a creep within 10 minutes of running time). He may be a handsome dude but whatever. He's more crooked and side-swiped than Lombard Street.
"Blind Date" stars Meredith Thomas as the de facto damsel in distress. You wanna like her in the lead but I don't know, she's a little spasmatic and altogether irksome. Equally irksome are her friends who try to begrudgingly coax her into the dating pool. Internet dating for a mature babe like Thomas? Well I guess that's a plot device that had to exist. Otherwise The Wrong Blind Date wouldn't exist.
Anyway, The Wrong Blind Date is a small improvement from schlock-meister and "Wrong" Lifetime-r director David DeCoteau (it was hard for me to admit that). Davy turns the psychological screws a little bit better this time. Yeah his pics lack emotion and don't really have that damnable conflict or struggle. Still, DeCoteau moves the story along nicely and that's despite no man/woman courting process, personas that have labels on them (the bad guy, the astute daughter, the smothering girl pal), and obligatory Lifetime aerial shots (hello LA).
The Wrong Blind Date kinda evaporates right after you see it. But at least you're not "blind" to what it's trying to accomplish. Guy meets girl. Guy hacks into girl's life with girl being oblivious to what's going on. Girl's daughter plays detective and has to do some digging into guy's past. Daughter's boyfriend is in the wrong place at the wrong time and should've never been involved. Vivica comes in to save the day with a hammer and sass (Go Fox! Go!). Oh Lifetime, you slay me! You really do.

Gave it 3 out of 10 only because of Meredith Thomas. She's one of the few LMN actresses who can actually act, and she's very likeable.
Matt Pohlkamp is so overused in LMN flicks, it's hard to keep it straight whether he's playing the LGG or LBG (Lifetime Good Guy/Bad Guy).
SPOILER: And not sure why he left two people alive (to testify against him) out of the three people he tried to kill?
THE Vivica "Wrong" movies long ago wore out their welcome. They need to be given a long, permanent rest.

Don't they get tired of using the basic story with minor changes and different actors, but still one single formula? Basically this is another version of Unstable (2012) and.the Wrong Roommate (2016), with Ashley. Scott in the former and Jessica Morris in the latter. And Meredith was definitely wrongfully cast in this one. She is more Stepford wife-zy type!
Stay away from this Garbage.

Don't waste your time on this movie. Watching this feels like as if a toddler has directed the whole movie.
The climax of the movie is just a scene where the Black women hits the guy with a hammer (soft hit) and we get to next scene where everything is fine.
This is the lowest you can go in cinema.

I seldom review films but this one was dire. The only decent actress out of them all was the daughter Sophia Masson. Vivian Fox was just passable but the rest , Meredith Thomas, Rainer Dawn, Matthew Pohlkamp, Clark Moore, and Leslie Kay were ridiculous. I have no idea how they get acting jobs. Absolute rubbish actors/actresses.
Yet another cautionary tale about internet dating.......

This was the usual formulaic LMN movie but as per usual, had an attractive cast and somewhat interesting storyline.
And, as per usual this is set in the "Lifetime Universe" where things just don't make a whole lotta sense, like...
1. Utter screwballs getting on the internet and shafting the innocents who get involved with them....
2. Adult BUSINESS PEOPLE acting like High School students who don't know their "you know what" from a hole in the ground....
3. COLLEGE STUDENTS possessing wisdom of the ages and counselling their parents....?
I must admit that the casting was realistic and the mother and daughter appeared as such and not as sisters.
Fun watch....

Having first read the reviews before watching this film on afternoon tv, and expecting to get fed up with it and turn it off, I was surprised how much better it turned out to be after the poor reviews it had been given. I thought the acting was reasonable and found the story line kept me interested as to what was going to happen next without me becoming bored. Not having watched any of the similar tv film programmes mentioned in the previous reviews probably made it more interesting as I did not know what the outcome was going to be. I would class it as a middle of the road afternoon film to watch if you have nothing better to do.
