- In the aftermath of the downed shuttle, Anna continues to manipulate human emotions and arranges for one of the Vs to be badly beaten and then left in alley. She announces that they no longer feel safe on Earth and will therefore leave leading to an outcry and world-wide support for them to stay. As part of her plan, Anna ensures that the attackers are identified, once again framing Kyle Hobbes for the attack. The second attacker is identified as Paul Kendrick, a government scientist who mysteriously disappeared from his job several weeks before. He had been working with others on a project and may have inadvertently developed a weapon against the Vs. Kyle meanwhile seems to be playing both sides of the fence and makes an offer to the Visitors.—garykmcd

In a dark alley a dumpster diver finds Lisa's broken body. Erica and Malick investigate, she is surprised to see its Lisa. Malick asks if Tyler knows she's a V. Erica says she doesn't know. Erica goes to her and says she'll find out who did this to her: they also carved a"V" into her face. Erica asks if she recognized the "men" who hurt her. She flashes back to her mom hitting her and says no. Erica hugs her and says it's going to be okay.
Anna watches this from the ship and says it's time for Joshua to go down to the healing center to fix Lisa's legs but not her face. She says she wants the world to see what the Fifth Column has done to her daughter since a picture's worth a thousand words.
Hobbes watches news on Lisa's assault and is surprised to seek sketches of the suspects include one that looks like him.
Chad also watches a breaking news report that Anna is going to make an announcement. A colleague can't believe this is how Chad, the "voice of Vs", is getting the news like everyone else.
At the church Jack and Father Travis have a full house praying for the Vs. Jack is worried they're praying more for the Vs than themselves. Father Travis tells him to try and find room in his heart for the Vs like his parishioners have.
At the hospital Erica shows mug shots to Lisa, including Hobbes and some other dude with glasses. She says she's sure these are the men who attacked her. Anna arrives and Erica is shocked to hear Lisa is Anna's daughter. Anna pretends to be loving and caring and concerned.
Erica takes her aside to talk and Anna reall pours it on as she looks at the pictures of Lisa's injuries. She can't believe the Fifth Column is terrorizing people as humans have accepted them. Erica shows Anna the mug shots, she says she's never seen these men before. Anna asks about Tyler. Erica says he's heard and is very upset. Anna says he's lucky he wasn't with Lisa when this happened. Erica agrees. Anna says as a mother Erica must empathize. Erica, pointedly says, as a mother she knows if anyone tried to hurt her son there's nothing she wouldn't do to stop them. Anna says then she's sure Erica will find the perps before they hurt someone else's child.
At Fifth Column HQ, Jack and Ryan confront Hobbes, who says he didn't do it and he is being framed again. He says the last time the Vs framed him he had been hired to kill the other guy named as a suspect, glasses guy Lawrence Parker.
We switch to FBI HQ and get the rundown on Parker: a weapons engineer, CIA analyst, went missing four weeks ago, has top secret access. Kendrick thinks Hobbes is the key and they need to find him. Erica suggests the go for Parker, a civilian, instead. Kendrick says she better be right.
Tyler goes to FBI and asks after Lisa and apologizing for not telling her that Lisa was a visitor. She takes Ty to visit Lisa who is having her legs fixed by Joshua. Lisa didn't want him to see her like this. He says he needed to know she was okay. As they speak, Joshua introduces himself to Erica in the outer room. He tells her that the two perps are innocent and that Anna inflicted the injuries to Lisa. Joshua says he doesn't know why but the two framed men have answers and she needs to find them before Anna does. Erica asks if Tyler is in danger. Joshua says that at first Tyler was an assignment but now Lisa's feelings are real and that he doesn't think she would hurt him.
Lisa says she didn't mean the things she said to Tyler about not wanting to see him, she was confused because she's never had feelings like this before.
Anna arrives and puts on Lisa's shoes and says it's time to go. She and Tyler hold hands until the last moment. Erica looks at her lovestruck son sympathetically.
A group of V supporters stand outside the healing center. Chad spies Marcus coming out and asks why he wasn't consulted on helping to control the story. Marcus says Anna has been indisposed. Marcus says they already have it under control. Anna emerges with Lisa and says not to look at the cameras or give eye contact because the less she gives the more poeple will want. Chad tries to get Anna's attention. She whispers to Marcus they're cutting Chad off for now but will bring him back when the time is right. She steps to the podium and reveals that this terrible hate crime has been perpetrated on her daughter. She says they came in peace and offered healing powers and energy and have been repaid with this attack and because of that now they're d leaving.
At FC HQ Ryan says they're lying. Hobbes agree and says she's putting on a show. Ryan points out that she could've healed Lisa's face wounds and didn't. Erica wonders what Anna's interest is in Hobbes and Parker. Hobbes doesn't know. Erica thinks Parker is key. Hobbes also thinks she should ask Tyler if the "lizard princess" told him anything. She doesn't want to. Ryan thinks bringing him into the FC may be the best way of protecting him. She ignores this.
Hobbes goes to his shady lady friend and is tipped off that Parker is holed up in Chinatown. Hobbes tosses his apartment and steals his hard drive. He calls Erica and gives her the deets.
Chad goes to the ship and Marcus tells him Anna has been too busy dealing with the assault and the exodus to talk to him. Chad doesn't believe they're leaving. Marcus says they have to. Chad says he can help by swaying his viewers to protest. Marcus says he's a journalist, tasked to reporting the news not editorializing.
Marcus goes to Anna and she says they have Chad right where they want him: desperate to have them stay for his own career and ready to skillfully persuade his viewers. She tells him to have the Shanghai ship take off immediately. It does.
Later we see a "special commentary" from Chad who says the Vs saved his life and humans who care about a better, more peaceful, technologically advanced world should make it known they want the Visitors to stay.
Ryan and Jack sit outside Parker's place and Jack asks Ryan what's wrong, why he's been different since Val left. Ryan says John May convinced him that human emotions were good but now that he feels so bereft without Val he's not sure if it's true and he can continue the fight. Jack says he can if he has faith.
Erica joins them in the car and tells them to cover the front and back if Parker tries to bolt.
She goes to the apartment and ID's herself as FBI. Parker he says he disappeared because someone came after him and even though he didn't assault Lisa he's running because he's afraid. He isn't sure why the Vs are after him but tells Erica he's been working on an organic compound that was supposed to help with global warming but had bad side effects, algae that caused viruses in amphibians and ... yup, probably lizards... so the project was abandoned. He points out someone stole his hard drive and all his research. Unfortunately it's useless without his colleagues collaborative research, they worked separately so as to be indispensable. So whatever it is- and there are green discs in his briefcase- could kill the Vs. Erica pockets one of the discs.
The FBI roars up outside and Jack calls Erica to warn her. She gets Parker to give her the names of the people who were researching the compound with him and says she will do what she can to help him. She then drops and cuffs him just as the Feds bust in. Kendrick says it's nice work on Erica's part but Malick is suspicious that she was there already.
A V shuttle leaves the White House.
Parker is brought into FBI. Kendrick says the White House has persuaded to keep the Vs on earth. They also want to form a joint human-V task force in which suspected FC terrorists would be remanded to a V ship for questioning starting with Parker. Bad news for Parker.
Erica calls the three musketeers and reports that all of the scientists on Parker's research project are reported missing. Ryan thinks Anna has them. Erica says they have to hold on to Parker somehow, she hopes to get through to Lisa. They're worried about this. Erica says if Anna is going to use Tyler she will return the favor.
Anna, Lisa, and Marcus arrive and Erica pulls Lisa aside for "prep" to confront her attacker. She gives Lisa a picture of Tyler to bring in with her for the line-up to give her comfort and strength. She tells her that this man's fate rests in Lisa's hands and that she cannot condemn an innocent man and she needs to be 100 percent sure. Lisa is about to spill and then Anna busts in.
Lisa goes into the line-up and points to Parker. Erica asks if she's sure. She says she's positive. They depart with Anna's thanks to Erica. Parker is hauled away. Erica says that stopping the FC will be her first priority. Anna says they're bound to cross paths again. Erica says she's not going anywhere. Anna says neither is she.
Hobbes is on the phone to someone saying he has Parker's research and wonders how much the person on the other end is willing to pay.
On the ship, Anna thanks Chad for his report. Chad calls Anna on manipulating him into making that plea. She says all she cares about is peace and the safety of her people. She wants his help in rooting out FC and wants his FC source. He says that would be a breach of his journalistic ethics. She said he already did it once today, what's one more time? She says she's looking out for both of them.
At gang HQ, Hobbes says he's worried about Ryan's moodiness. Ryan says he's on his game and for Hobbes to stay on his. Hobbes gives a speech about special op soldiers and how they don't carry family photos or mementos because if someone discovered them they'd be used against them. Hobbes knows the Vs hit Ryan where it hurts regarding Val and the pain he's feeling will be used against him by the Vs and that in war emotions will get him killed and to burn memories of Val from his heart. Ryan leaves.
On the ship Anna and Lisa survey the eggs of Anna's army, it will be born soon. They're gross and squishy and "Alien"-like. Anna commends Lisa on how well she did today. Lisa promises to keep Erica close and convince her that her kind feelings toward her are real as she did with Tyler.
Lisa goes to Joshua and asks if the eggs are allowed to hatch the soldiers will they destroy the FC? Joshua says they will.
Tyler watches a news report on Parker's arrest. Erica returns and Tyler says she's a hero. So she's heard she says. He says her catching Parker means a lot to him and he thanks her. (He thinks she assaulted Lisa, remember?) Tyler wants to make sure Erica is okay with him dating a V. She admits it's a little weird but she'll deal. He thanks her and walks off. She calls him back and says he was wrong about the Visitors and he would like to get to know Lisa and Anna better. He likes this idea. She looks a little sick.
Marcus reports that the fleet from their home planet will soon be in radar range. Anna says they'll make sure human technology doesn't pick it up. He says fear of the FC is spreading among the 29 ships. She says they just need their queen to assuage their fears. She sends out another bliss missive. Joshua and Lisa exchange glances.
Ryan looks at a picture of him and Val and starts to get the Anna message, he looks up and soaks it in. He then shuts the blinds. His phone gets a text from Val's doctor. "Val's water just broke."
One of the soldier eggs begins to hatch.
A car with tinted windows pulls up in an alley. Marcus is inside. He is meeting Hobbes who says Parker's research is in a safe place and Marcus can have it when Hobbes gets what he wants: a bunch of money and a clean slate with the Vs. Marcus departs without agreeing to anything.
