- Liz believes she's found her perfect man while between weddings with Wesley, Jack has to make a decision after Nancy meets Avery, Kenneth gets fired while trying to avoid a promotion, and Jenna's boyfriend becomes a Cher impersonator.

- Open with Liz trying to waste time at the lectern to keep the ceremony going. Jack tries to tell Nancy that he only started seeing Avery because he never thought she'd leave her husband.
Pete tells Kenneth he's been named "Junior In Charge Boy" of NBC's page program. Kenneth is overjoyed until he learns it means he must move to Los Angeles. Jack put him up for the promotion, so he'll have to speak with him if he wants to turn down the job.
Liz is now playing the guitar and singing. Jack tells Nancy he wants to be with her. She demands that he make a decision. "Are you in or are you out?" she says. Jack says he's in and Nancy smiles.
Jenna returns home to find Paul dressed as Cher. She is furious that he is impersonating another woman behind her back. Paul says he loves both her and Cher equally, but she tells him he must choose.
Jack and Nancy rush home between weddings to fool around and are met at the steps by Kenneth asking to turn down the promotion. Jack says he won't let him do it.
On their way to Cerie's wedding Wesley tells Liz he left his tuxedo shoes at his old job. Since he vowed never to return there he wants her to get them.
Tracy tells Kenneth he should do a bad job in order to lose his promotion.
Jack and Paul meet at Cerie's wedding. Paul tells Jack about his dilemma. Jack tells him that he must choose, but that you'll never know for sure if you made the right choice.
Avery and Nancy run into each other in the bathroom. Avery tells her she is there to talk to her ex and Nancy asks her to tell her what's really going on.
In Wesley's office Liz runs into Carol (Matt Damon), a pilot looking to get a workman's comp issue taken care of. Carol had his middle finger bitten by a drunk woman. They immediately connect as Carol says he loves TGS. She asks if he believes in fate. Carol is excited that Liz is the head writer of TGS and she asks him to go to Cerie's wedding with her.
Kenneth does a terrible job with his latest tour, calling it "stupid" and referring to smoking "drug cigarettes."
At the reception Jack meets Carol. Later Jack tells Liz he's with Nancy because he thinks making any decision is better than no decision at all. Liz tells Jack she's now convinced you can't force fate. Jack has made his decision and isn't looking back.
Nancy sees a placecard with Jack and Avery together and realizes she was the other woman.
Pete tells Kenneth the people on his tour were executives from Kabletown. He now must fire Kenneth.
Nancy confronts Jack about Avery. She wants to know what makes Avery so special. Jack lists the reasons why he likes Avery. Nancy realizes that Jack truly loves Avery and she tells him that Avery is at the reception and is pregnant. Nancy thinks this is fate, that Jack should be with Avery.
Wesley yells at Liz for trying to end the engagement with a text. Liz tells everyone that the engagement is off. She then gives a speech that Carol is the one for her and that people don't have to settle. She yells "love is real!" Wesley says it is Liz's loss, that "there's only one Wesley Snipes in this world."
Carol overhears the Liz rant and tells her he's leaving.
Jack tells Avery he wants them to get married. He assures her that he "wants this, I've always wanted this." Avery says "let's do this" and they kiss.
Liz gives her speech at Grizz's wedding. Liz tells Jenna that she blew it with Carol. Paul shows up dressed half as her and half as Cher. They seem to come to an understanding.
Carol returns to the reception and tells Liz he wants to give it a shot.
A drunken Kenneth grabs the microphone and tells everyone what he really thinks of them. He criticizes them for throwing away food and complaining about apartment renovations. He then tells them they are his best friends and he hopes they get everything they want in life. "Kiss my face! I'll see you all in heaven."
