From director Korinna Sehringer, “Shouting Secrets” is a touching drama about a Native American family who came together after somebody dies from an unfortunate stroke.
The film has numerous known America-Indian cast members, including Chaske Spencer (“The Twilight Saga”), Q’Orianka Kilcher (“Sons of Anarchy”), Tyler Christopher (“General Hospital”), Tantoo Cardinal (“Dances with Wolves”) and Tonantzin Carmelo (“Into the West”).
Here is the synopsis of the film:
Shouting Secrets is the tale of a fractured family brought together by tragedy. A richly realized portrait of kin repairing bonds once thought irretrievably broken. Wesley (Chaske Spencer of the Twilight series), a young, successful novelist, long ago left Arizona and the San Carlos Apache Reservation in his rear view mirror. He remains close to his mother June (Tantoo Cardinal) but alienated the rest of the family (Q’orianka Kilcher, Tyler Christopher, Gil Birmingham) with his autobiographical bestseller. He has no intention of...

Bad Girls Don't Cry. They Get Even. Something a little wicked to kick off this week. Anchor Bay Films has released a full trailer for Austin Chick's Girls Against Boys, an indie revenge horror thriller about the girls being the bad guys this time. Danielle Panabaker (seen in Sky High, Mr. Brooks, The Crazies, The Ward, Piranha 3Dd) stars as a college student who gets into a plan of revenge with her friend Lu, played by Nicole Laliberte (seen in Dinner for Schmucks, Shouting Secrets - the red head). This actually looks a lot crazier than I was expecting, but seductively entertaining with guns, swords, and everything else. Have fun! Watch the official Us trailer for Austin Chick's Girls Against Boys, in high def from Apple: When Shae (Danielle Panabaker), a naive college student, is tormented by several men in a matter of days, she reaches a breaking...

Over the last decade, the Scottsdale International Film Festival (Siff) has grown impressively, starting in 2001 with just 11 films. When the 12th annual event kicks off on October 5th, Siff will have 38 films and 69 screenings, with special guests such as director Josh Dragotta and actress Angel Walker (in town to present their film Satan’s Angel: Queen of the Fire Tassels). In short, the festival’s expansion over the last 11 years proves that it’s one of the go-to spots for diverse films from all over the globe, from highly anticipated Oscar contenders to little-seen foreign films.
The 12th annual festival opens on the night of Friday, October 5th with The Eye of the Storm, an Australian drama starring Judy Davis, Geoffrey Rush, and Charlotte Rampling, and directed by Fred Schepisi, who will attend the event to present the film and take part in a question-and-answer session with audience members afterwards.

On Saturday, November 20th, Gil Birmingham ("Billy Black") attended the SAG President's National Task Force For American Indians and NBC Universal Premiere Screening Of Reel Injun and American Indian Actors at L.A. Skins Fest, and he stopped to talk a bit about the Twilight series in this video interview.
"The Twilight films, that sounds so familiar," he joked. "It’s just an awesome franchise to be a part of, I mean something that touches so many people globally speaking, that’s part of the experience.
