Well, if it were longer it would be tedious

Effectively funny "trailer" for a movie that couldn't work. The concept is the reverse of the typical sad reality. Unfortunately, the concept played for humor here was occasionally tragic (River Phoenix). Ralph Macchio somehow avoided hitting bottom on the way to a comfortable middle age life -- probably because he was still doing the "teen roles" well into his twenties. If he *was* seriously looking for acting work, not having a scandal or two might indeed make him less known and therefore less "bankable." He seems to have settled for occasional roles, so maybe he will pull a Scott Baio and pop up on a Nickelodeon series.

"Wax On, F*ck Off" (have to censor this, really IMDb?) is a 4-minute comedy short film by Funnyordie and it makes fun of how you have to hit rock bottom first if you are a child star before you can make it big as a grown-up. This film stars Ralph Macchio, the kid from the "Karate Kid" films and he makes fun of himself simply being too nice, not having all these troubling headlines and that's why he cannot make it big again. It's all in good spirit, but there may be some truth to it. The director is Emmy winner Todd Holland and the supporting cast includes familiar faces like Molly Ringwald and Kevin Connolly. Pretty good for such a short film. Sadly, the joke gets old and unfunny quickly and the elaboration on this joke is also far from perfect when we see Macchio randomly hugging prostitutes in order to be scandalous. Funnyordie has done better on many occasions. This one here is not among their finest achievements. Thumbs down.
