The third screen project for novelist Jean-Christophe Grangé to be completely unrelated to one of his novels, after the films Vidocq (2001) and Switch (2011).
Jean-Christophe Grangé wrote the character of Nathalie Fontaine with Barbara Schulz in mind. Being a fan of his novels, this plus the idea of reuniting with Marc Lavoine who'd she previously co-starred with in Celle que j'aime (2009) and the fact that she'd heard good things about director Jérémy Minui convinced the actress to take on the role.
Marc Lavoine's previous regular TV series role was in Kepler(s) (2018), a miniseries often noted for its similarities with the works of Jean-Christophe Grangé, the creator of this series.
