I WANT TO DIE
nogodnomasters16 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the finest black and white films to come out of Claymont, Delaware...where ever that is. Johnny Craven (Mark Cray) is an occasional serial killer who is looking to recruit a protege for Cameron (Robert Z'Dar) a man who wants to retire after a couple of more snuffs. Johnny has selected Seth (Devin Kates) a suicidal foster kid to join the group of serial killers, because this is what Johnny does.

The film shows some people being killed, but lacks being graphic. It focuses on the faces of kids like Seth, as they lament about their life. If listening to faux-foster kids tell their story and then being convinced to snuff someone your scene, this is it, although I didn't feel the film was done well like everyone else. I enjoyed the Cameron scenes as we watch an overweight thoughtful serial killer plan his retirement. The rest of film I found rather boring.

Guide: F-bomb. No sex or nudity.

Don't Believe A Word Your Reading From These Other Reviews

This is the definition of Garbage! Absolutely the most boring, badly shot, over long, horribly written, miserably acted, crappy edited, amatuar hour piece of nonsense you could ever imagine!!! Don't waste your life watching this. Absolutely nothing happens here. Just a lot of implied nonsense with some joke of an actor mean mugging throughout his own movie. This is like the August Underground movies except with nothing extreme happening and even worse acting. Anthony Spadaccini may just be the worst director of all time! Definitely no one who watched this is giving 10stars. Fake family, friends, cast reviews. Terrible!

New Beginnings

In this third installment to the Head Case series, we follow a new pair. John and Seth. John is Wayne's stepson, and somehow seems even more devious than Wayne himself. Seth has fallen under John's spell and finds himself starting a new life. The story and the characters all sent a chill down my spine. It was quite an experience to behold. I found this to be even better than The Ritual. The character development was excellent. I liked the new take on things. Seth's "emo" appeal and the social media in which these suicidal teenagers communicated through gave the film a more modern feel. This put a new spin on things and kept Post-Mortem fresh (no pun intended?). I truly enjoyed this movie. Spadaccini expanded well on paths I wanted to be explored. Awesome work!

In the third installment of Anthony Spadaccini's Head Case series he does just this. This will take you on a journey that is rarely ever traveled and it is a film that is a must see!

Going into the mind of a 15 year old is a scary place, but going into the mind of a 15 year old hell bent on suicide is somewhere you won't dream of going. Then throw in a serial killer as a mentor and you have the perfect recipe for murder.

Lost in his own mental struggle he is taken under the wing of serial killer John Craven where he gets his first taste of blood, and from there it gets crazy.

A realistic, emotionally-charged nightmare
jcarly898 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Post-Mortem is the third installment in the Head Case series of 'found footage' horror films about serial killers who videotape their crimes. This time, the story follows a suicidal teenager named Seth, who wishes to escape his family of drug addicts. A manipulative serial killer named John comes along, promising Seth to make his life more fulfilling. He agrees to be trained in the ways of murder. Seth's depression and vulnerability make him an easy target for John. The character of Seth is sympathetic. I found myself rooting for him, hoping that he'd end up escaping his nightmare. But I knew full well that he wouldn't have a happy ending. On the other hand, John is a pure psychopath. Post-Mortem is pretty surreal in certain spots, though it's still realistic and disturbing. The murders in this movie are emotionally-charged and pretty tough to sit through (the slaughter of an entire family sticks out in my mind). By the time the movie ended, I was relieved that it was over. It made me want to go outside and enjoy a world where these characters do not actually exist.

Dark and twisted with a cherry on top

Warning: Spoilers
This was my favorite of the Head Case movies by Anthony Spadaccini. With that being said, I enjoyed the fact that John's character was so different from Wayne's character in the other Head Case films. Wayne enjoyed the act of killing and generally he committed his murders in a quick fashion. John, on the other hand, enjoyed dragging out his murders and watching the people suffer. It was almost haunting to watch John kill his victims. There was such violent acts taking place and he seemed to be enjoying it too much. John's protégé, Seth, I found to be very endearing. For some reason, I almost liked him. I don't know if I felt bad for him, or if I felt bad about his circumstances and how his family was in shambles. I blamed his violence on his parents and their lack of position in his life. Regardless of how I felt about Seth, he was a sick and demented killer. At the end of the film, Seth meets an early demise at the hands of John Craven. When John walks away, you wonder what he is going to do next. Another Protégé perhaps? Will he continue to kill? I would bet yes and yes.
