You people are really mean for hating this show. I've never seen so much hate and disgust thru out a series in my life. You people should be ashamed of yourselves!!!

Still Playing Catch-Up with the Pilot
Quicksand9 November 2010
After a pretty well-put-together pilot, I was pretty angry to see such a mess of an underwritten, poorly paced second episode. I was ready to write the show off completely, but at least this third episode made an effort.

It still has the hindrances of a typical police procedural-- minimum character development, necessary coincidences to streamline plot resolution-- but at least it was an entertaining hour of TV. More so than episode two.

With the exception of Danno, no character is really given much growth, though they put forth a medium amount of effort for Chin (Daniel Dae Kim) this time around. Good, but not great. Bonus points for Max Casella.

Character Development Far Away
shelbythuylinh10 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It is far away but that they manage to get there. And how that Kono is a rookie working alongside former HPD Lt and cousin, Chin Ho Kelly as Grace gets to meet the team.

Steve finally softens up with kids but bear in mind to begin with he was awkward but that is what the Navy does in not wanting weakness but toughness.

But also that the team tries to figure out over in the gangs between turf wars with mobsters and gangs there that expand to the football field with several killed or wounded.

Loose Ends and Unrealistic Plot Kinda Ruined it
Vexzy30 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
My complaints about this episode are pretty much all about the plot (the cinematography, acting, and scenery were all what you would expect from a big-budget show. Nothing more, nothing less). For instance, the idea of the football game at the beginning not having security, therefore allowing multiple men (Both protagonists and antagonists) to carry and conceal handguns in their clothes. Or the part where they put the gun trafficking pizza shop owner into the cage with the sharks surrounding it. That's literally using torture (even though the sharks were harmless, it's still psychological torture because the shop owner doesn't know that) as a means to get information. I know that the whole idea of the show is that Five-0 has "Means and Immunity", but that's kind of tacky in itself; the shark thing was WAY over the line of ridiculousness. I got to say, compared to the pilot, this episode is below standards.
