When the waitress Keeley Farlowe is found dead in a secondary road together with two sheriff's deputies that were looking for her, Lisbon and Patrick Jane investigate the case. They interview her grieving fiancée Todd Johnson and his disabled uncle. The phony clairvoyant Ellis Mars goes to the police station to warn that the killer would strike again, and Patrick gives attention to him. The trucker driver Gregor Hobart becomes a suspect since people from the restaurant where Keeley worked tell that he used to harass and tip her well and was the last person to see her alive and he accuses the cook. When the ballistic comes to CBI, the agents find other cases of other police officers death connected to the weapon. When another sheriff is murdered by the serial-killer, Patrick Jane plots a plan to catch the killer.
"Red Moon" is a good episode of "The Mentalist", with an intriguing conclusion of the fate of the serial-killer. He seems to be connected to Red John, but Patrick Jane takes too long to talk to him. My vote is eight.
