Rita is grilled by The Prosecution, who claim that her motive for murder, was that she was aware of her husband's desire to leave her for a younger woman. Brigadier Sir Ferdinand Tennyson-Pusey is brought in as a weapon's expert.
There's a depth to this three part story, that I simply don't see in many dramas, the writing throughout this was incredibly, Fisher nailed it.
Oh my goodness, this is one of the best things I've seen in forever, I was enjoying it enormously when Rita was on the stand, I was all set to applaud the performance of Valarie Bell, until.....the acting masterclass from Anthony Sharp.
Brigadier Sir Ferdinand etc etc, is he Crown Court's best ever character, so used to seeing him playing Vicars and comedy roles, be was awesome as the brusk, impatient Brig, he was terrific.
10/10.
