Thanksgiving means time for family, friends, turkey, and the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The balloons were out in full force in NYC on Thursday, despite strong winds threatening to put a damper on the fun tradition. Snoopy, SpongeBob Square Pants, and, yes, even Santa made it out for the march throughout the Big Apple while stars like Jimmy Fallon took a break from their own holiday activities to wave at fans from their floats. The stars were out in full force at the 87th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Ariana Grande, Jimmy Fallon, Austin Mahone and more were all driven on floats throughout the city streets. Grande performed "Last Christmas" while doing her best to stay warm. She looked adorable in her winter coat and accessorized with a pair of white fuzzy ear muffs. "Happy Thanksgivinggg my loves…Wishing you a beautiful holiday with your families and loved ones. I am so thankful for you," she tweeted. Mahone sang his hit "Banga Banga" to tons of fans and also took to social media to thank everyone for coming out to see him. "That was so...

One of the highlights of the 2013 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was definitely "Late Night" host Jimmy Fallon and his band, The Roots, performing with the "Sesame Street" Muppets. They performed "Come and Play." There's a Gif above, video below of the performance
Fallon is preparing to take over as host of "The Tonight Show," which happens in February. Do you think he'll be a good Jay Leno replacement? Hopefully it's not another debacle like what happened with Conan a couple years ago.
We're excited to start and end our day with Muppets. First "Sesame Street" during the parade, and later tonight the "Lady Gaga and the Muppets' Holiday Spectacular." Here are some sneak peek clips, it should be great. It all starts at 9:30 p.m. Et/Pt on ABC.

The cast of NBC's live "Sound of Music" production are hard at work with just one week to go before the television broadcast. But a few of the cast members took some time out to join the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Carrie Underwood stopped by the "Today" anchor desk to talk about the show, which she says is coming along nicely.
"We still have a week to prepare, but it's coming along really, really wonderfully. Such a great cast, so much talent. I'm blessed, for sure," says Underwood. "'The Sound of Music' is a big legacy and it's so important to so many people, it's such a beautiful story, beautiful music. We just want to do it justice."
She also introduced co-stars Michael Campayno and Ariane Rinehart, who play Rolf and Liesl in the production, as they took to the Macy's star to perform "Sixteen Going on Seventeen." Gif below,...

"Duck Dynasty" is coming to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade this year.
The Robertsons of "Duck Dynasty" seem to be everywhere these days, so it's no surprise that they're also in the pop culture-loving Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, held annually in New York City. That reality-show family will be among a whole host of celebrities appearing in the big event.
Who else will be there? According to the Associated Press, Ariana Grande, Jimmy Fallon (along with the Roots), Florida Georgia Line and performers from Cirque du Soleil will all be involved in the famous parade. In addition to marching bands, celebrity performances and floats, the Macy's parade will feature its traditional big balloons. Among the characters getting balloons this year are Snoopy, Woodstock and Toothless from "How to Train Your Dragon."
One of the biggest and most famous parades in the United States each year, a total of about 8000 people...

"Miracle on 34th Street" (1947): Christmas is the holiday commonly associated with this classic, which actually is set in motion by the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, in which the man (Oscar winner Edmund Gwenn) playing Santa claims to be the real Kris Kringle.
"Alice's Restaurant" (1969): Arlo Guthrie adapts his classic song by playing himself as he visits eatery owner Alice (Patricia Quinn) at Thanksgiving ... and ends up in trouble with the law.
"Hannah and Her Sisters" (1986): One of Woody Allen's warmest comedies gathers an extended family for two Thanksgivings and boasts Oscar-honored performances by Dianne Wiest and Michael Caine.
"Planes, Trains and Automobiles" (1987): High on many lists of holiday humor, filmmaker John Hughes' tale makes mismatched traveling companions of Steve Martin and John Candy. How mismatched? Well, let's just say, "Those aren't pillows."
"Dutch" (1991): A man (Ed O'Neill) volunteers to bring his love interest's ill-mannered son (Ethan Randall,...

It's hard to get me to watch a reality show of any kind, even if I can be talked into a competition show if there's the right contestant. But it's likely I'd tune in every week if Pee-Wee Herman were cast on Dancing With the Stars.
Speaking of my own personal animosity towards reality television, has anyone watched Sundance Channel's Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys? Because having seen the cast previews, I'd really like to have you explain to me why you watch it.
In depressing news, Spirit Day coincided with the Senate marking up the Department of Education funding bill, widely seen as the best way to pass the two anti-bullying and anti-discrimination bills for students. Neither the Safe Schools Improvement Act nor the Student Non-Discrimination Act were discussed, and are probably dead. Again.
