Not everyone thinks living a life of royalty is all it's cracked up to be -- even Prince Harry.
The 32-year-old royal sat opened up for a remarkably candid interview with The Daily Mail on Sunday, and admitted that, at a certain point in his life, he considered leaving his life behind and striking out on his own as a commoner.
News: Prince Harry Says The British Monarchy ‘Is A Force For Good’ But No One Is Lining Up To Be King
"I spent many years kicking my heels and I didn't want to grow up," Harry said, of his infamous period of partying during his 20s. "I felt I wanted out, but then decided to stay in and work out a role for myself."
It turns out that one of the most profound decisions in his life came when he chose to join the Army, which he served in for 10 years and called "the best escape...

Having recently returned from Disney World, where 'The Festival of the Lion King' earwormed that soundtrack into my brain again, I find myself frantically trying to rewrite "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" for Prince T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) who we last saw mourning his king and proving something of a surprise moral center to the squabbling superheroes of Captain America: Civil War (2016).

Indie filmmakers have been good to Legendary Entertainment. In 2014, Gareth Edwards’ “Godzilla” earned $529 million worldwide; his previous film, 2010’s “Monsters,” earned around $4 million on a budget of well under $1 million. For the second film in their burgeoning new cinematic universe, they went with director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (best known for his Sundance favorite, “The Kings of Summer”), who’s expected to create another blockbuster with “Kong: Skull Island.”
“I did get a lot of offers, and they were big and small and all sorts of things,” the filmmaker said. “I have a love of Kong and I have a love of creature features and monster movies. ‘Kong’ was the first movie that was going into production that I felt like I could actually do my thing with.”
At this point, it’s a familiar story. An arthouse star, a fan of the franchise, a white dude. Edwards went from “Godzilla” to “Rogue One.

Sticking to his usual M.O. for big movie announcements, Jon Favreau appears to have just told Twitter that he’s casting Donald Glover as Simba in his live-action remake of The Lion King. Disney has yet to confirm the information, but Favreau tweeted this out earlier this afternoon:
I just can’t wait to be king. #Simba pic.twitter.com/wUYKixMBJI
— Jon Favreau (@Jon_Favreau) February 18, 2017
It’s always possible that this is just directorial wishful thinking—Glover’s a busy guy, what with Han Solo, Atlanta, and his musical career as Childish Gambino—but it certainly looks like he’ll be belting out “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” somewhere down the line. Details about the live-action Lion King are extremely sparse; Favreau will reportedly film it back-to-back with his second Jungle Book film, but there’s no release date on the books.
Update: Favreau ...

Disney/Pixar
It’s no secret that Disney and Pixar have the ability to make both children and adults sob their hearts out with one simple scene *coughToyStory3cough*. But they can also make you laugh, have an existential crisis and explore political issues that you didn’t realise were some major themes in a lot of these movies.
And the songs can do the same thing.
Not only are they extraordinarily catchy songs, but the lyrics are also clever and meaningful, enough to push you into that existential crisis, and if you don’t believe a Disney/Pixar song can push you over the edge – check out heartbreaking realism in ‘Savages’ from Pocahontas. Of course, the majority of them are just a bit of fun and you’ll be singing them for the rest of the day once you’ve listened to them. But picking out your favourite Disney...

With the colorful world of Agrabah, an Academy Award-winning score by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, and some of the most memorable lyrics of Disney’s golden age, it seems like Aladdin — the 1992 animated classic about a street rat and his magic lamp — was always destined for stage treatment. And next week, the flying carpet will soar at the New Amsterdam Theatre, when Aladdin begins previews ahead of its March 20 opening.
At a recent “meet the press” event, EW chatted with the show’s director/choreographer Casey Nicholaw, co-lyricist/book writer Chad Beguelin, and principal cast — including Adam Jacobs (Aladdin...

Who’s ready for a big weekend at the box office? After locking in over $109 million overseas its first weekend out, “Thor: The Dark World” is poised to blow away the domestic box office, too. With the weekend all to itself, “Thor” could wind up being this year’s “Skyfall” and kick off its run with nearly $90 million, which would put it about $25 million ahead of Thor’s first movie. Even though there are no other newcomers entering the race on Friday, “12 Years a Slave” is getting its nationwide expansion and will likely shake up the top ten quite a bit. Should its $11,688 per theater average come down [ Read More ]

It may seem that I'm diggin' in the dirt. Gettin' back to my punk rock roots. Well, some of my favorite new music does seem a wee bit primal, oui? And some of it is even out this world. But all of this music is party playlist-worthy for any weekend getaway. Proceed with caution....
"Back to the Way I Was" Emily Bell: In Technicolor (One-Eyed George)
Love the retro-girl bop rockabilly trip of this Austin-based ginger-haired flamethrower. She's got plenty of sass, snarl, and sex appeal. And her roots-rockin' band rips it up all the while she shakes and struts her stuff. This will keep any party swingin' all night long. Don't move your lips, just shake those hips....

Driving, Relentless. Dangerous. Watch out for that speeding vehicle! Throbbing bass, guitar, and drums, played live. Signal 30 was truly a 1959 U.

Ewan McGregor is one of the busiest actors in Hollywood. Few days ago we reported that he will star in an Australian heist thriller Son of a Gun, and now comes the word that he’s attached to star in a project titled Born to Be King together with Kate Hudson!
So, we’re here to start a little romantic chat, because the movie, which comes from director Peter Capaldi, is already being described as a mistaken-identity romantic comedy!
Born to Be King will revolve around a film extra, played by McGregor, who has an uncanny resemblance to a movie star and a Hollywood starlet, played by Hudson, who’s at war with her co-star and begins to fall for the extra.
This looks like a horror to me, but if they say it’s a rom-com, then it’s rom-com!
Just for a record, if you have something against...

Though we realise he’s just an actor who delivers lines, there’s a tiny part of our collective brain that wants Peter Capaldi to turn into Malcolm Tucker when he steps behind the camera to direct. But there’s slim chance of Ewan McGregor and Kate Hudson being told “Christ on a bendy bus son, don't be such a fucking faff arse” when they show up to work on Capaldi’s next gig, Born To Be King.Capaldi wrote the script, which springs from a similar Prince And The Pauper root as movies like Dave. The mistaken-identity comedy finds an extra (McGregor) who bears an uncanny resemblance to a huge, arrogant movie star. The star’s girlfriend (the role Hudson is circling) is herself a big name, but so sick of his behaviour that she begins to fall for the extra. Cue comedy chaos!Indomina Releasing is pimping this...

Ewan McGregor has signed on for the upcoming romantic comedy Born To Be King. The Thick of It actor Peter Capaldi will direct the project from his own screenplay, with Kate Hudson in talks to join. The mistaken identity comedy centres on a film extra (McGregor) who looks very similar to a famous movie star, and a Hollywood actress (Hudson) who clashes with her co-star and falls in love with the extra. "Born to be King exemplifies the type of high-quality product Indomina aims to bring to the international marketplace," said distributor Indomina's Stephanie Denton. "Peter's screenplay seamlessly weaves the story of the (more)...
