Warner Bros Discovery has finally nailed down plans to go the Fast route. Last year — in between an intense bout of cancellations and titles being pulled from their streaming home on HBO Max — the company announced plans to explore a free ad-supported television option (Fast). During the company's third-quarter earnings call, Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav made a point of saying that there's "a huge amount of content that's not even on [HBO Max/Discovery+] that's sitting with us that hasn't been put to monetize in the marketplace." In the spirit of cashing in, a new plan has been enacted. Over the next few months, 14 Warner Bros. branded Fast channels will arrive on Roku and Tubi.
Have you been longing to return to the days of cable television, with free TV shows being regularly interrupted by ads? Don't bother answering, because it's happening either way! The new Warner Bros Fast channels will feature popular titles including "Westworld,...

What happens in Italy does not stay in Italy, my friends.
Let that be a word to the wise. This summer, Lifetime has their Book to Screen Saturday movies, and on the list was Adriana Trigiani’s Very Valentine starring Kelen Coleman from Big Little Lies.
The real star of the movie was Jacqueline Bisset as the coolest, prettiest, and most awesome grandmother around, Teodora. Um, excluding my grandmother, of course.
She was vibrant, full of life, and a blast for the entire movie. Also, the family dynamics of this movie were all over the place, but Gran and Valentine working, living, and going on vacation together (as well as finding their love in Italy together) was the type of modern famiglia quality content I adore.

Documentary filmmaker Doug Block, whose previous credits include 51 Birch Street and The Kids Grow Up, revisits selected couples from the 112 weddings he filmed over 20 years as an official wedding videographer, in an attempt to discover what happens when the party is over and what married life really means. The successes of the numerous wedding-based reality TV programs, BBC3’s Don’t Tell The Bride and C4’s My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding to name just two, prove the strong public interest in weddings as a subject, particularly in a “reality” context. Perhaps this is surprising, given the 50/50 success rate of modern marriages, a statistic touched upon in Block’s rather tentative exploration of the contemporary relevance of the institution. There is still something voyeuristically attractive about weddings and marriage, even more so in a contemporary setting where such traditions are seen less and less as socially essential. For some reason,...

Who doesn.t love TLC.s My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding??? I love every loud, obnoxious, tacky, trashy, ignorant moment of it. Especially how the .gypsy stars. can go from 0 to 30 on the anger scale in a matter of seconds. I love that no matter how old they are, they.re still game for a whoop-ass fist-fight, and I.m just talking about the ladies! I love how they think they are better and classier than non-gypsys because they don.t date around, or for that matter sleep around. (Yeah, right). I love how they introduced me to a level below white trash. How all the men look like Jersey Shore.s Pauly D. I love how they married the .chola-brow.

Gypsies? Or dirty common Caucasians? TLC gave them a show. Let's face it, if you're a fringe freak, you're in like Flynn at the network. Did you ever notice there are two sizes in Gypsy land? Super thin or huge and fat, no mediums exist in Gypsy land. They marry as soon as they get their periods and wear dresses drag queens roll their eyes at. And like magpies, they adore shiny objects. They're known for their cinched-up corsets, miles and miles of fabric, and enough bling to blind the average person. These are the over-the-top dresses featured in the hit series My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding ...giving young Gypsy brides the special day they only dreamed about. Now, the...

Channel 4 has axed 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding'. The station's head Jay Hunt confirmed the series - which made a star out of Paddy Doherty - would not be returning as it was ''important to know where to draw the line''. However, he did confirm there would be ''special'' one-off episodes. He said: ''We have quite naturally got to a point where we are thinking differently about the franchise. There will be more 'Gypsy Weddings' next year, we are doing some specials, but not another series. ''Entirely for creative reasons, it's important to know when to draw the line and I...

Channel 4 will end its Big Fat Gypsy Weddings programmes in 2013, according to channel controller Jay Hunt. Speaking to press at the Edinburgh Television Festival, Hunt said that the channel had "quite naturally come to the point" where it needed to do something different with the franchise. She said that Thelma's Gypsy Girls was an example of new shows that could be spun out of the series. Hunt said that there would be no more series of the show, but did promise some specials next year. The channel boss cited "creative reasons" for the show's demise. Big Fat Gypsy Weddings has been C4's biggest ratings hit in the post-Big Brother (more)...

American subcultures have become a hot trend in the past year, with TV shows delving into the lives of the Amish, a group called the Hutterites and, perhaps most infamously -- and entertainingly, in some instances -- Gypsies (some of whom prefer to be called Roma). TLC has had hits with "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding" and "My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding," which were not short on gaudy fashions, emotional fireworks and dramatic fisticuffs -- and that was just among the women. National Geographic Channel now has its own Roma series, "American Gypsies" airing Tuesdays.
Co-executive produced by Ralph Macchio, "American Gypsies" follows one of New York's most prominent Roma clans, the Johnses, who struggle to preserve their age-old customs and keep power in their community. One of the Johns sons, Bobby, particularly struggles with balancing his family's old ways and letting his daughters experiment with branching out into...

A teenager has slammed an upcoming Big Fat Gypsy Weddings spinoff show. Bridget Deadman, 17, was one of ten travellers who have taken part in Thelma's Gypsy Girls. The series follows dressmaker Thelma Madine as she teaches ten girls how to make their lavish wedding gowns. However, Deadman has criticised the show for portraying the girls taking part as "freaks". "Thelma wasn't interested in teaching us anything. It was just a freak show which made us look violent, tarty and stupid. At times it was like being on Jeremy Kyle," she told The Sun. "Every stereotype there is about gypsies was pushed to the hilt and Thelma and the camera (more)...

On the series premiere of "My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding" (Sun., 10 p.m. Et on TLC) viewers were given a glimpse into traditional Romany society and its rules governing marriage and morals.
As 17 year-old Romanichal Gypsy, and bride-to-be, Shyanne explained, girls like her are supposed to remain virgins until they're married, and sex ed is strictly off-limits.
"Romany girls aren't supposed to know anything about that until after they're married," she said.
Her fiance, 18 year-old Michael, was blunt in his atittude toward girls who have sex before marriage: " I want something new," he said. "I don't want something used."
Like its progenitor, smash hit British show "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding," this new series has divided critics. The New York Times describes it as a "sideshow," but The New York Post says it's "fascinating."
"My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding" continues on Sundays at 10 p.m. Et on TLC.

If you're looking for a history lesson about Gypsies in the United States, you won't find it in the new series "My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding," a spinoff of the British hit "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding" premiering Sunday, April 29, on TLC.
What you will find is bling. Lots of bling.
Like their counterparts across the pond, American Gypsies, aka Romany, who number about 1 million, favor big, sparkly dresses for their daughters' weddings and other special occasions. The premiere focuses on two girls: Shyanne, 17, who is planning her wedding to a boy she's met twice; and Hope, 14, who looks forward to forging a love connection at her 15th birthday party.
Both girls are dressed for the big day by Boston seamstress Sondra Celli, who has become accustomed to creating enormous wearable confections on short notice. For Shyanne, that's a crystal-studded dress with pink trim and a skirt so wide...

With the hit UK series, My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, under their belt, Firecracker Films set out to make an American spinoff for TLC. One would think that the process of finding and filming the highly insular American Gypsies would come easier for the team, but that wasn’t the case. “I’ve been producing TV my entire career,” London-based Firecracker Films' executive producer, David Herman, tells The Hollywood Reporter. “And usually you do four weeks of pre-production and two weeks of shooting and then you make a program. This was the most extensive pre-production and production period

Big fat Gypsy weddings aren't just for European travelers -- apparently, they happen right here in the U.S.
TLC's "My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding" (premieres Sun., Apr. 29, 10 p.m. Et on TLC) is a stateside spinoff of the popular show that first exposed Gypsy weddings in the U.K. This new, eight-part series goes inside the secret world of Gypsies in America and their equally extravagant Swarovski crystal-covered weddings.
We've got an exclusive sneak peek at the "My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding" premiere, which shows Cheyenne and her family as they deal with the fact that her husband-to-be Michael's family won't be at their wedding. When it becomes clear to Cheyenne that Michael's parents don't approve, her mom Chrissie has some Gypsy words of wisdom of her own.
"I think that's why, a lot of times, Romanichals try to marry second or third cousins because you know 'em.

The latest episode of TLC's "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding" follows Irish traveller Paddy, who was attacked by a member of a rival gypsy clan -- he even survived a gunshot wound to the head. But despite moving to the country with his wife, he continues to suffer violent encounters.
As payback, he's arranged a bare-knuckle fight between his son, Simey, and someone from the family of the man who attacked him.
"We're fighting for our father's honor," Simey says in Zap2it's exclusive preview of the episode, airing Friday, April 20 at 10 p.m. on TLC. "Letting people know you can't hit our father and get away with it, it's as simple as that. If they do, they've got to suffer the consequences -- which is fight. We don't like weapons or anything like that, we really love to use these [gestures to his fists] and that's the best we do. And when it's over,...

Current British and world cage fighting champion Tony, the latest subject on TLC's "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding," has a pretty great professional life -- he is a title-holder in his field -- and personal life -- he's expecting a child with his gorgeous 28-year-old model girlfriend.
But his family doesn't approve. In Zap2it's exclusive of Friday, April 13's episode, Tony's dad says that Gypsies marry their own. "A Traveler marries a Traveler," his father explains. Three of Tony's siblings are married to Gypsies, but his girlfriend Danielle is a non-Traveler.
In addition, she's a topless glamour model, which is looked down upon for moral reasons by Gypsies. That doesn't sit well with Danielle, who says she wants Tony's family to accept her before they have contact with their grandchild. "If you can't get to know me, then there's no way that my child is growing up and staying with you.
