Genndy Tartakovsky's reminder that no one has ever down Star Wars like he did Star Wars
plandefeld3 February 2024
While most of Tartakovsky's work in the 21st century is unabashedly influenced by his work on Samurai Jack, Sym-Bionic Titan was always the exception with clear influence taken instead from his work on 2003's Clone Wars, and Escape From Galaluna is the episode which most embodies this. Every element of this episode feels like Jedi, Sith, and white-armored troopers were drawn over in favor of the steampunk space opera characters of this series - a story of betrayal based around a blaster-rifle warfare, with a flashy and climactic duel befitting lightsabers at its center. It is maybe the best work of Star Wars media ever made outside of the Star Wars IP.
