The mountaineering scenes were filmed in Oregon, near Mount Hood, some 80 km east-southeast of Portland. According to an interview with Timothy Hutton, the snowfall was real, not staged, and the cast managed to get some filming done "...between the major snowball fights". There is no actual Mount Kibari in Alaska (there is, however, a town named Kibari in Rwanda).
Eric Stoltz makes an uncredited appearance as the deceased spouse of the client of the Leverage team, Alan Scott.
The hug Eliot gives Hardison before going up the mountain was an improv by the actor.
When Nate says "let's go steal a mountain," Parker replies "again." This refers to the season one episode 'The Snow Job' when the team "stole" a ski resort as part of a con. Nate said "let's go steal a mountain" on that occasion as well.
According to the DVD commentary, Christian Kane did all his own stunts in the episode except for the dead fall into the ice cave. He was not allowed to do that stunt since it was a drop of over fifteen feet. Kane was very annoyed that they would not let him do the stunt.
